Gujarat government distributed benefits worth

Rs.13,000-cr to 85 lakh poor beneficiaries through 1000 GKM

Announcing conclusion of Garib Kalyan Mela (GKM) and Vanthambhi Vikasyatra programmes of the state government the Chief Minister Narendra Modi said the service of poor is the highest priority of his government. He said the state government has distributed benefits worth Rs.13,000 crore to 85 lakh poor beneficiaries through 1000 GKM so far.

Under Vanthambhi Vikasyatra the state government has carried out 27,000 development works worth Rs.30,000 crore at 4200 taluka panchayat seats. “Rising beyond the partisan politics, our government has felicitated 90,000 former panchayat representatives in public. Through eMPOWER programme the government has given computer training to thousands of rural youths. But the Congress can not just tolerate development of Gujarat’s villages”, he said. The Chief Minister also congratulated the government functionaries for making these programmes successful.
