Wide-spread applause for PM Modi’s Independence Day speech

As India marked her 71st Independence Day, while speaking from the Red Fort, Prime Minister Narendra Modi today instilled a sense of pride among people across the nation to create a ‘New India’ of their dreams by 2022. His speech was widely appreciated by people from all walks of life.

The Prime Minister’s mention about action against corruption, zero-tolerance for terrorism, violence in the name of faith and ending the age old tradition of triple talaq found special praise among the people. The Prime Minister's emphasis on youth was widely appreciated too.

Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi today condoled the loss of lives in an accident in Sambhal, Uttar Pradesh. He announced an ex-gratia of Rs. 2 lakh from PMNRF for the next of kin of each deceased and Rs. 50,000 to the injured.
