PM Modi in an interview with ANI today said that BJP will continue to serve the people of this country with the mantra of “Sabka Saath, Sabka Vikaas”. PM Modi added that “Serving the nation with the karyakartas gives me the sense of being as equal as any common man of this nation, this is important as victories should not go to someone’s head.”

PM Modi spoke on the issue of opposition claiming credit for the current government’s policies “This question has always pleased me as I believe that whenever the opposition tries to take credit for our work that means that the policy is effective and is working”. Further addressing the safety issues of Uttar Pradesh, PM Modi said “The criminals in UP used to rule over the Law and Order of state but today the even the daughters of UP can roam around without any fear at any time of the day. Yogi Ji has given prominence to safety and security in the state”.

On the issue of upholding the integrity of law concerning one of the BJP’s MPs relatives allegedly committing a crime, PM Modi reiterated, “The Judiciary of this country is vibrant and pro-active, we have taken appropriate steps in accordance with the committees formed by the Supreme Court of this nation and will comply as per the law only.”

Speaking to the success of Double Engine sarkar and the absence of such success in non-’Double-Engine Sarkar’ governments, PM Modi said, “Whenever politics for personal gains will take precedence over the welfare of the people, the state is bound to be left behind in development and progress.” Giving the example of GST, the PM told that today the business environment is smoother due to the commonality of taxation prevailing all over India instead of state-specific policiesearlier.

On the issue of preserving regional aspirations, PM Modi said, “Bharatiya Janata Party believes in addressing regional aspirations for the nation's progress. Having been the Chief Minister for a long time, I'm aware of the aspirations and requirements of a state. Our Government has identified Aspirational Districts and put a special focus on them. Some of the districts have already crossed the state average on several parameters.”

PM Modi also touched upon the issue of caste and religion in politics and policy-making. “When I was the Chief Minister, we identified minorities who got benefitted under OBC category. Nobody, to date, has talked about this practice of inclusiveness but people are playing politics over the election candidacy whilst misguiding people with fake information. This then leads to some people declaring that minorities aren’t safe in India.”

Talking about the fake socialist thinking of opposition, PM Modi remarked, “I have always said ‘The Government has no business in being in business’ and thus the government should be focused on the welfare of the nation. The problem lies with the certain ‘Parivarwaad’ disguised under the veil of fake socialism.”

“When I say fake socialism, I mean 'Parivarwaad'.Do we see Ram Manohar Lohia Ji's family anywhere? He was a socialist.Do we see the family of George Fernandes? He was also a socialist. Do we see Nitish Kumar Ji's family anywhere? He's also a socialist,” PM Modi added.

Commenting on the farm laws which were withdrawn, PM Modi said, “We understand the challenges of small farmers. Farm laws were brought for benefit of the farmers but they have been withdrawn in the nation's interest.”

Speaking about the pandemic situation in the country, PM Modi said, “I have always urged people to be vigilant against the COVID-19 pandemic. This virus is highly unpredictable and we should always strive to reduce its impact on our nation. The problem is that few political parties have played the role of fear mongers to destabilise the nation’s preparedness against the pandemic.”

PM Modi on upcoming elections in Punjab said, “We have always strived for peace over instability and thus want to bring the peace to Punjab’s plight. Many learned and experienced leaders have joined hands with us, showing that they believe in our resolutions for Punjab. I hold a special connection with Punjab, having resided in the state and serving the people, I have experienced the pure-heartedness of the people of Punjab.”

Paying homage at the monument, Prime Minister recalled the struggle and sacrifices of Indian diaspora and their pivotal contribution to preserving and promoting Indian culture and tradition in Guyana.
