Prime Minister Narendra Modi while addressing a public meeting in Kanpur said that Uttar Pradesh wants change and progress. Shri Modi said Uttar Pradesh has a vital role in giving a stable Government.

Shri Modi spoke about how skilled youth can be agents of change in countering poverty. “65 per cent of our country’s population is below the age of 35. If they have the skill, they can ensure that poverty becomes history in India”, said Shri Modi. He also shed light on several Government initiatives to empower the country’s youth.

Prime Minister Modi affirmed that the Centre’s agenda is to end corruption and ensure welfare of poor and marginalized people.

PM Modi remarked that corruption and black money have adversely affected the lives of common man. He attacked the opposition for not letting the Parliament function. “Our agenda is to end corruption and black money. But a few people are stalling Parliament are even not ready to debate! They are running away from the issues we wanted to discuss for eliminating black money. They shouted slogans in order to save the corrupt”, he said.

Shri Narendra Modi said that people of Uttar Pradesh are tired of goondaism. “People who have formed government in the state back them. This will eliminate when the government is changed in Uttar Pradesh”, he stated further. Prime Minister Modi also said that it is the responsibility of political parties to set an example on non-corrupt practices and the donations received by them.

PM Modi said, “Our mobile phones have become banks today.” He encouraged people to use digital methods of making payments. He highlighted several banking apps and initiatives undertaken by the Central Government to provide incentives for online transactions.

The Prime Minister thanked people for being patient and cooperating in the demonetization drive to fight corruption. “In our fight against corruption, we have been blessed by the poor. History wil not remember the Prime Minister but the people for taking the revolutionary step to fight corruption and black money”, he said. Shri Modi also complemented bank officials for serving the people throughout.

Veteran BJP leader Shri Murli Manohar Joshi, several karyakartas and Union Ministers were present during the event.

PM Modi to visit Mauritius from March 11-12, 2025

On the invitation of the Prime Minister of Mauritius, Dr Navinchandra Ramgoolam, Prime Minister, Shri Narendra Modi will pay a State Visit to Mauritius on March 11-12, 2025, to attend the National Day celebrations of Mauritius on 12th March as the Chief Guest. A contingent of Indian Defence Forces will participate in the celebrations along with a ship from the Indian Navy. Prime Minister last visited Mauritius in 2015.

During the visit, Prime Minister will call on the President of Mauritius, meet the Prime Minister, and hold meetings with senior dignitaries and leaders of political parties in Mauritius. Prime Minister will also interact with the members of the Indian-origin community, and inaugurate the Civil Service College and the Area Health Centre, both built with India’s grant assistance. A number of Memorandums of Understanding (MoUs) will be exchanged during the visit.

India and Mauritius share a close and special relationship rooted in shared historical, cultural and people to people ties. Further, Mauritius forms an important part of India’s Vision SAGAR, i.e., Security and growth for All in the Region.

The visit will reaffirm the strong and enduring bond between India and Mauritius and reinforce the shared commitment of both countries to enhance the bilateral relationship across all sectors.
