PM Narendra Modi today attended Digi Dhan Mela in New Delhi. PM Modi launched the new Aadhar based BHIM App for making payments. PM Modi said, "There was a time when an illiterate was called 'angutha chhap' but now, time has changed. Your thumb is your bank now. It has become your identity now."


PM Modi said  in addition to his role in making of the Constitution, Dr. Ambedkar was also a great economist. He said launch of the BHIM App is significant. The Prime Minister said mantra of Dr. Ambedkar was to work for the upliftment of the poor. And the biggest power of technology is that it can empower the poor.

The Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi today congratulated the Indian Hockey team on winning the Women's Asian Champions Trophy.

Shri Modi said that their win will motivate upcoming athletes.
