Prime Minister Narendra Modi addressed a huge public rally in Rudrapur, Uttarakhand today. PM Modi expressed gratitude to the people of Uttarakhand for attending the rally in large numbers.

PM mentioned that BJP has won all the3 MLC seats in UP for which results have been declared today. “Am coming from UP with great news that BJP has swiped the MLC polls there”, he said.

PM congratulated the scientists for successful testing of missiles. “I want to congratulate our scientists for successful testing of missile that can destroy other missiles in the air itself, he said. Taking a dig at the opposition he further said, “Our opponents questioned about the surgical strikes earlier. They asked for proofs. Hope they don't ask about functioning of this missile.”

Shri Modi recalled former PM Atal Bihari Vajpayee’s contribution in the formation of Uttarakhand. He said, “Atal Bihari Vajpayee ji created Uttarakhand. It was his efforts & policies that this state is scaling new heights.”

Shri Modi added that for the development of Uttarakhand the NDA Govt is taking serval measures. He said that BJP was dedicated to open up new possibilities for youth of Uttarakhand and said, “We provided loans under Mudra Yojana & empowered our youth. We want them to be entrepreneurs of tomorrow.”

PM Modi stressed that people of Uttarakhand needs to get rid of tainted and corrupt government. “Dev Bhoomi Uttarakhand must get rid of corruption. Why is it that small & medium traders have to give Harda tax? This must end,” He said.

Shri Modi opined that development of Uttarakhand was of utmost importance for BJP. “Uttarakhand needs VIKAS - Vidyut (Electricity), Kanoon Vyavastha (Law & order) & Sadak (proper connectivity through roads), said PM Modi.

Shri Modi also said that Govt at the Centre has allotted Rs. 12, 000 crores for connecting Char Dham with better roads. He added, “Uttarakhand has the potential to attract tourists from the entire world. We have allotted Rs. 12000 crore for connecting Char Dham.”

Shri Modi mentioned that Uttarakhand was the land of the brave. “Our ex-servicemen fought for One Rank One Pension for four decades. Congress did not pay attention to them,” he said.

PM Modi urged the people of Uttarakhand to vote for BJP choose a corruption free government. “Urge people in Uttarakhand to elect a BJP government dedicated to fulfill Atal Ji's dream of a prosperous Uttarakhand,” he concluded.

Several BJP karyakartas and leaders attended the event.

First such instance that a Prime Minister will attend such a programme at the Headquarters of the Catholic Church in India

Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi will attend the Christmas Celebrations hosted by the Catholic Bishops' Conference of India (CBCI) at the CBCI Centre premises, New Delhi at 6:30 PM on 23rd December.

Prime Minister will interact with key leaders from the Christian community, including Cardinals, Bishops and prominent lay leaders of the Church.

This is the first time a Prime Minister will attend such a programme at the Headquarters of the Catholic Church in India.

Catholic Bishops' Conference of India (CBCI) was established in 1944 and is the body which works closest with all the Catholics across India.
