Our Govt is committed to empower the poor: PM Modi

Prime Minister Narendra Modi today addressed huge public meetings in Hardoi and Barabanki districts of Uttar Pradesh. Shri Modi thanked people for record turnout in first two phases of elections in the state. He added that the country will move on the path of progress when Uttar Pradesh develops.

Shri Modi opined that unless Samajwadi party, Bahujan Samaj Party and Congress are removed from Uttar Pradesh, the state would not develop. He added, “SP, BSP and the Congress never thought welfare of people and always focused on political gains. This must change.”

Lambasting at the Samajwadi party, Shri Modi stated that crime rates in the state were continuously rising. “Does the state government even take a note about the rising crime rate? Women do not feel safe to move out of houses after dark. Honest people are harassed. Uttar Pradesh tops the chart in the entire nation in crime rates. UP alone registers about 50 per cent of cases relating to Arms Act.”

Shri Modi spoke about Vyapar Kalyan Board and Vishwakarma Shrama Samman Yojana that BJP would implement for the benefit of small entrepreneurs, if voted to power. The PM also highlighted that the previous governments did not take any necessary steps to reduce fertilizer costs. “When Chaudhary Charan Singh ji was there, he reduced cost of fertilizers. Inspired by him and giving farmer welfare utmost importance, we have undertaken the measure to reduce fertilizer costs. No other party had taken such a step.”

Shri Modi spoke at length about neem coating of urea and how it had benefitted several farmers. PM Modi also shed light on various aspects of Pradhan Mantri Fasal Bima Yojana. He added that it was the most comprehensive crop insurance ever.

Shri Modi said that his government’s fight against corruption would not come to an end.  He further stated that to reduce corruption government has eliminated interviews for jobs for grade 3 and 4 in Government, “Earlier bribes used to be taken for grade 3 and 4 jobs. We've done away with interview processes. This has put a check on corruption.”

Prime Minister Modi said that the BJP was committed to empower the poor. Shri Modi remarked, “Poor would be empowered when we eliminate corruption from society.” The Prime Minister noted that the Centre had reduced stent prices which would directly benefit people as cost of treatment would come down.

Shri Modi sought vote for the BJP and said that these elections were about changing the fortunes of Uttar Pradesh. Several party karyakartas attended the event.
