Prime Minister Narendra Modi addressed public meetings at Morbi, Prachi, Palitana and Navsari in Gujarat. He hit out at the Congress party for being heavily indulged in corruption and dynastic politics. He also spoke about the annoyance of Congress party when Dr. Rajendra Prasad had come to Gujarat for inaugurating the Somnath Temple.

While speaking at the event in Morbi, PM Modi expressed that in good and bad times, the Jan Sangh and the BJP stood with the people of Morbi, but one cannot say the same about the Congress and their leaders.

“For us, what matters is the wellbeing of people. Even when we were not in power we were with the people of Morbi and serving society”, he added furthermore.

Attacking the Congress, PM Modi remarked, “For Congress, 'development' was giving hand pumps. For BJP, it is Sauni Yojana and large pipelines that carry Narmada waters. We also focussed on check dams.”

“If the Congress was in power the Narmada waters would never come here and the farmers would have been disadvantaged. Congress has tried everything possible to delay the project”, the PM remarked in Palitana.

PM Narendra Modi said that the main issue in Kutch and Saurashtra when the BJP came to power was water shortage. “Lack of adequate water was affecting society and the BJP government changed this and got waters of the Narmada to these regions”, said Shri Modi.

Talking about Sauni Yojana, the Prime Minister said, “Through the Sauni Yojana, we built huge pipelines. Dams in Saurashtra are being filled due to Sauni Yojana. But, I do not think the Congress can see all this.”

At the event, PM Modi talked about several welfare measures being undertaken for the farmer and agriculture sector to flourish. Mentioning about the Pradhan Mantri Kisan Sampada Yojana, the Prime Minister said, “Through this Kisan Sampada Yojana there has been an effort to help farmers in value addition and earn more.

Lashing out at the Congress party from Prachi, the Prime Minister spoke about the displeasure they had shown when Dr. Rajendra Prasad had come to Gujarat for inauguration of the Somnath Temple. He highlighted the vital role played by Sardar Patel for the temple to come up.

“If there was no Sardar Patel, the temple in Somnath would never have been possible. Today some people are remembering Somnath, I have to ask them- have you forgotten your history? Your family members, our first PM were not happy with the idea of a temple being built there... When Dr. Rajendra Prasad was to come to inaugurate the Somnath Temple, Pandit Nehru expressed his displeasure on that”, said the PM.

|

Shri Modi said that the Congress was seeking votes of the OBC communities but they should also answer why they did not allow OBC Commission to get Constitutional Status for all these years. “We brought in the move, it was passed by the Lok Sabha but stalled in the Rajya Sabha, where Congress has majority”, the Prime Minister remarked. Shri Modi said that the issue would be taken up in the upcoming Parliament session and the government would ensure that OBC communities get their due.

The PM also alleged the Congress party for being heavily indulged in corruption. “My remaining in power is bad news for those who have looted the nation for 70 long years”, he said in Prachi.

|

At Navsari, taking a dig at the Congress party for its dynastic politics, Shri Modi remarked, “There are three elections going on- one in UP local bodies, one in Gujarat and the third one for the Congress President. In the first two the BJP is sure to win. And in the third one, no one except one family will win.”

Adding further the PM said, “During UP polls two leaders set forth to campaign and the media went overboard glorifying them. They wrote that Modi is finished. The result is for everyone to see. And, what did these two leaders do in UP? They called Gujaratis donkeys.”

|

Addressing a gathering in Palitana, the PM stated that Congress was only involved in ‘Jaatiwaad, Parivaarwaad and Bhrashtachaar’. He took a jibe at the Congress party by saying that they controlled ‘tanker business.’ He added, “Do you remember the water shortage in the region? This is because the Congress controlled the tanker business. It suited them to have this shortage. The BJP has changed this in the last 22 years. We have made the tanker industry irrelevant.”

|

The PM slated that Congress mocked everyone who worked hard and their hatred towards the poor was shocking. He said, “We have the legacy of Fakir Gandhi - the great Mahatma. They have the legacy of royalty. They were born with all privileges and are disconnected with the roots... They hate development, they hate Gujarat, they hate Modi and now they hate sweat also. That is because they have never had to sweat it out in life and work hard. They are mocking everyone who works hard. This is their mindset. Such hatred for the poor is shocking.”

PM Modi also attacked the Congress for not resolving the matter of One Rank, One Pension and keeping it pending for forty long years. “When elections were approaching, they announced a meagre Rs. 500 crore for OROP when the real requirement was a lot higher. This was misleading of the highest order”, he added.

|

Questioning the Congress on Doklam issue, the PM remarked, “Why did the Congress believe the Chinese and not our external affairs ministry?”

The PM said that every political party including the Congress took the decision of GST with consensus but now they were sidelining themselves. “When we remember people, we remember Mahatma Gandhi, Lord Buddha, Sardar Patel, Netaji Bose, Bhagat Singh but they remember Gabbar Singh. What more can I say about their thought process”, he added.

At the public meetings, the Prime Minister spoke at length about several welfare initiatives of the Centre and how they were transforming lives of people across the country.
