Prime Minister Narendra Modi addressed two huge public meeting at Vidisha and Jabalpur in Madhya Pradesh today. These rallies come in a series of other similar rallies by the PM as the state of Madhya Pradesh heads to the polls on 28th November, 2018.

PM Modi began his address to the people of Vidisha by applauding them for turning up in large numbers, which he said shows the resounding belief that the people of Madhya Pradesh have for the BJP government headed by CM Shivraj Singh Chouhan. He said, “At all the rallies I have addressed, I have witnessed the public’s faith in the BJP has been increasing day-by-day while the negativity espoused by the Congress is finding no takers these days.”

He attributed this to the cheap and low levels of politics that the Congress has indulged in the recent past, going so far to the extent of making personal attacks on the Prime Minister and his parents. Reacting to such derogatory comments, PM Modi said, “We never do personal attacks on anyone’s family. We criticise people on the basis of the posts they held or the things they did. But why are the Congress leaders doing personal attacks on my parents. This is absolutely unacceptable.”

Prime Minister Modi then put this scenario in stark contrast with the 15 years of transparency and good governance pioneered under the Shivraj Singh government. He said that the difference between 55 years of misrule and division by the Congress and 15 years of transparent governance by the BJP government is for everyone to see.

Talking about the strides Madhya Pradesh has taken in the agriculture sector under the incumbent government, PM Modi highlighted how this government has brought the most comprehensive crop insurance scheme for farmers, who are immensely benefitting from it.

He said, “The Congress’ false talk of ensuring the welfare of farmers can be best seen in Karnataka, where it formed the government on the promise of waiving off farmers’ loans. However, we all can see that now the farmers there are in distress, warrants are being issued against them for non-payment of their loans and they are being arrested. Now, would anyone want to trust such a party to work for the welfare of farmers in Madhya Pradesh,?” he asked.

Beginning his address in Jabalpur, Prime Minister Modi congratulated the people for turning out in large numbers to hear him out. Later, he lashed out at the previous Congress governments in Madhya Pradesh and in the Centre for neglecting the welfare of the common people and instead putting their personal interests first.

He listed out states like Uttar Pradesh, Bihar, Tamil Nadu, West Bengal and others where people have rejected the negative, corrupt politics of the Congress for decades and have not let it come back to power ever since due to their massive disappointment with the Congress governments. PM Modi reiterated some key schemes launched by BJP government which wil have a transformative impact on the lives of common people in the country in the future.

These include huge reductions in the costs of LED bulbs, opening up of hundreds of Jan Aushadi Kendras across the country to reduce the cost of essential medicines, expanding the Optical Fibre Network coverage in India to more than 1,00,000 villages and the massive increase in power generation capacity of Madhya Pradesh from 3,000 MW in last 55 years to 18,000+ MW in the last 15 years under CM Shivraj Singh Chouhan's current government.

Concluding his address, PM Modi urged the people to keep these incidents in mind on the voting day. He asked his supporters to strengthen the democracy of the country and turn out to vote in large numbers to support the BJP and give the Shivraj Singh government a resounding victory.
