Responding to a question from Neel Ananth, a student in Kanyakumari about best utilization of free time, PM Modi said, “Do not consider free time as spare time. It is a treasure. It is an opportunity. There should be of free time in your routine, otherwise life becomes like a robot.”

PM Modi said, “When you earn free time, you get to know its highest value. Therefore, your life should be such that when you earn free time, it will give you immense pleasure.”

PM Modi urged to utilize free time by learning new things out of curiosity and taking part in co-curricular activities, through which they could express themselves and bring out their uniqueness. He said, “Give your thoughts a creative way to express emotions. The scope of knowledge is often limited to what is available to you, which is around you. But the scope of creativity takes you far beyond knowledge. Creativity can take you to an area where no one has reached before, which is new.”

He advised teachers to talk to students out of the syllabus, adding that rather than stopping students from something, teachers should encourage them to be their best version.

PM Modi said that when he has free time, he enjoys spending time on a swing. “When I’m feeling tired, when I have a five-minute break or even if I have a bit of work, I don’t know why, but sitting on a swing rejuvenates my mind,” he said.
