On the morning of 30th April, Shri Narendra Modi cast his vote at a school in Ranip, in Ahmedabad, Gujarat.
Speaking on the occasion, Shri Modi termed the Elections as the biggest festival of democracy, and urged the voters to turn up in large numbers and cast their vote. He thanked the people of Gujarat for their show of support during the campaigning phase, and said, “I congratulate the people of Gujarat. The campaign has passed very peacefully. Elections are a festival of democracy. Everyone must join this festival of democracy and strengthen it.”
Affirming of the Congress’ wipe out after the declaration of results on 16th May, Shri Modi said, “I can say that the Mother-Son government is going. Congress has accepted defeat the way they're giving statements of aligning with Third Front etc. On 16th May the message will be clear. There will be a strong government led by BJP. There is no confusion of that.”
He asked the people to remember the misrule under the Congress and vote them out for a better future. He reaffirmed his faith in the people of India and appealed to them to cast their vote for a glorious future of India. “This is an election of hope. It is bringing a new trust. These elections will give new strength to the nation,” said Shri Modi.
Shri Modi profusely apologized to the people of Gujarat saying he was only able to devote 18 hours to campaign here but at the same time said that it was the people of Gujarat who took the campaign in their own hands and congratulated them for the same.
