On the evening of Thursday 21st November 2013 Shri Narendra Modi addressed a massive public meeting in Gwalior, Madhya Pradesh. Making a strong pitch to the people of Gwalior and Madhya Pradesh to once again elect the BJP government under the leadership of Shri Shivraj Singh Chouhan, Shri Modi said that the BJP has shown what Sushasan and Surajya can be and the BJP has also shown that a Government can be for the poor. Shri Modi opined that after studying the works of the BJP governments in Madhya Pradesh, Chhattisgarh and Gujarat, the political pundits have had to think beyond anti-incumbency and talk about pro-incumbency for the first time. Shri Modi congratulated Chief Minister Shri Shivraj Singh Chouhan and MP BJP President Shri Narendra Tomar for serving the poor of the state and expressed confidence that there is a BJP wave across the state.

Praising the leadership of Shri Shivraj Singh Chouhan, Shri Modi pointed that he has done excellent work in improving agriculture and tourism across the state. He shared that when there is a Chief Minister’s meeting convened by the Prime Minister, everyone is looking forward to hearing Shivraj ji’s insight on various issues. Shri Modi pointed that it is because the people gave BJP 10 years to serve MP that the state is no longer in the BIMARU category of states.

Shri Modi attacked the corruption of the Congress and also attacked the Congress’ failure to fulfill the promises it made to the people, including that of bringing prices down in 100 days. Giving a strong reply to the Congress leaders who say that we gave money, Shri Modi said that the money spent for development of people does not belong to any individual but it belongs to the people and by saying such things, Congress leaders are mocking the poor.

Shri Modi delivered a fitting reply to statements made by Dr. Manmohan Singh, in which he misquoted a statement by former Prime Minister Shri Atal Bihari Vajpayee over performing ‘Rajdharma.’ He said that Vajpayee ji said Narendra Modi performed his Rajdharma, and that the video is on You Tube but the PM should answer on what the Congress Vice President did when the PM was travelling to USA. He said that it is the Congress party that has lowered the dignity of the office of the Prime Minister. He declared, “Is Parivar Ko Koi Lalkarta Nahi tha...abekChaiwale ne lalkara hai .Yeh kehte hai Chaiwala PM nahi bangea to kya Desh bechne wale banenge?”

MP BJP President Shri Narendra Singh Tomar and Rajya Sabha MP Maya Singh ji were present on the occasion.

Cabinet approved three multitracking projects across Indian Railways
November 25, 2024

The Cabinet Committee on Economic Affairs chaired by the Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi, today has approved Three projects of Ministry of Railways with total cost of Rs. 7,927 crore (approx.).

The projects are:

i. Jalgaon – Manmad 4th line (160 km)

ii. Bhusawal – Khandwa 3rd & 4th line (131 km)

iii. Prayagraj (Iradatganj) – Manikpur 3rd Line (84 km)

The proposed multi-tracking projects will ease operations and reduce congestion, providing the much-required infrastructural development on the busiest sections between Mumbai and Prayagraj.

The projects are in line with Hon’ble Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modiji’s Vision of a New India which will make people of the region “Atmanirbhar” by way of comprehensive development in the area which will enhance their employment/ self-employment opportunities.

The projects are result of PM-Gati Shakti National Master Plan for multi-modal connectivity which have been possible through integrated planning and will provide seamless connectivity for movement of people, goods and services.

The Three projects covering seven Districts in three States i.e., Maharashtra, Madhya Pradesh and Uttar Pradesh will increase the existing network of Indian Railways by about 639 Kms. The proposed multi-tracking projects will enhance connectivity to Two Aspirational Districts (Khandwa and Chitrakoot) serving approx. 1,319 villages and about 38 lakh population.

The proposed projects will enhance connectivity along the Mumbai–Prayagraj–Varanasi route by enabling the operation of additional passenger trains, benefiting pilgrims traveling to Jyotirlingas in Nashik (Trimbakeshwar), Khandwa (Omkareshwar), and Varanasi (Kashi Vishwanath), as well as religious places in Prayagraj, Chitrakoot, Gaya, and Shirdi. Additionally, the projects will promote tourism through improved access to various attractions such as Khajuraho UNESCO World Heritage Site, Ajanta & Ellora Caves UNESCO World Heritage Site, Devgiri Fort, Asirgarh Fort, Rewa Fort, Yawal Wildlife Sanctuary, Keoti Falls, and Purwa Falls etc.

These are essential routes for transportation of commodities such as agriculture products, fertilizer, coal, steel, cement, containers etc. The capacity augmentation works will result in additional freight traffic of magnitude 51 MTPA (Million Tonnes Per Annum). The Railways being environment friendly and energy efficient mode of transportation, will help both in achieving climate goals and minimizing logistics cost of the country, lower CO2 emissions (271 crore Kg) which is equivalent to plantation of 11 crore trees.
