The Gujarat Government decided to ban Jaswant Singh’s Book ‘Jinnah-- India, Partition, Independence’ with immediate effect.

This book will not be sold, distributed or published in any part of the state. The book expresses sentiments that question the role of Iron man Sardar Patel during the partition of India. Sardar Patel is not only a celebrated freedom fighter butwas also a leader who was a source of great pride for Gujarat. The state Government has, therefore, decided to ban the book to protect the image of Sardar Patel and avoid hurting patriotic sentiments. Sardar Vallabh Bhai Patel is considered to be one of the architects of modern united India.
