Chief Minister gave new thought: SAVE EAST-WEST

Chief Minister Shri Narendra Modi today, dictated a new formula to fight the problem of global worming. While opening the National Conference on climate change at ISRO, Ahmedabad, Chief Minister outlined new formula as: SAVE EAST-WEST. He said that SAVE EAST means to save Energy-Air-Steam-Transport and SAVE WEST means to save Water-Environment-Society-Time.

A three day national conference on climate change begun under the auspices of ISRO and Indian Society of Climate Change (ISG), where around 250 experts of Space Communication Technology are participating. Chief Minister presented ISG-Awards to space scientists and launched a Coastal Zone Mapping Atlas also.

Welcoming scientist from across the nation, Chief Minister emphasized to adopt a scientific approach to deal with these issues. He said that 'cosmetic-change' will not help to fight climate-change.

Chief Minister said that in Gujarat , where a longest 1600 km. sea-coast is available, study of the impacts of climate change will strengthen the ecosystem. He said that rivers were main water-source for the development of human cultures in ancient era. In modern days High-Way culture is developed and optical fiber network will give rise to future culture of humanity

Outlining various steps of Biotechnological research and desert-mapping through space technology, Chief Minister said that Gujarat has used space science to deal with social and growth related issues.

Shri Narendra Modi gave details of the State's planning in electricity sector and highlighted the works of the Government in the area of disaster management. He also mentioned about his desire to build world's largest lake of fresh water in Gujarat. 'The world will see growth-culture of New-Gujarat in next 20 years', he said.

Mentioning newly formed separate department of Climate change, Chief Minister said that the Gujarat government is the fourth in entire world to start such a department.

Union Secretary Shri Shailesh Nayak expressed his confidence in the national conference and said that this conference would serve as a medium for experts to formulate solutions for various environmental issues.

Director of CEPT Shri Vakil, Scientists, subject experts and students from different states were present on the occasion.

PM Modi to visit Mauritius from March 11-12, 2025

On the invitation of the Prime Minister of Mauritius, Dr Navinchandra Ramgoolam, Prime Minister, Shri Narendra Modi will pay a State Visit to Mauritius on March 11-12, 2025, to attend the National Day celebrations of Mauritius on 12th March as the Chief Guest. A contingent of Indian Defence Forces will participate in the celebrations along with a ship from the Indian Navy. Prime Minister last visited Mauritius in 2015.

During the visit, Prime Minister will call on the President of Mauritius, meet the Prime Minister, and hold meetings with senior dignitaries and leaders of political parties in Mauritius. Prime Minister will also interact with the members of the Indian-origin community, and inaugurate the Civil Service College and the Area Health Centre, both built with India’s grant assistance. A number of Memorandums of Understanding (MoUs) will be exchanged during the visit.

India and Mauritius share a close and special relationship rooted in shared historical, cultural and people to people ties. Further, Mauritius forms an important part of India’s Vision SAGAR, i.e., Security and growth for All in the Region.

The visit will reaffirm the strong and enduring bond between India and Mauritius and reinforce the shared commitment of both countries to enhance the bilateral relationship across all sectors.
