Gujarat Chief Minister Shri Narendra Modi will watch ‘The Light: Swami Vivekananda’ in Ahmedabad on 6th August 2013. ‘The Light: Swami Vivekananda'is a film based on the life and times of Swami Vivekananda.

Year 2013 marks the 150th Birth Anniversary of Swami Vivekananda and on this occasion, to pay tribute to the legendary Swami Vivekananda, Director Utpal Sinha has directed a film titled ‘The Light:  Swami Vivekananda’ that takes the audience on a journey of transition of young Narendra Nath Datta to world renowned  Swami Vivekananda.

To make the film popular prior to it’s release on 23rd August, the makers have organized a special screening for Shri Narendra Modi in Ahmedabad on 6th August.

The film has Deep Bhattacharya playing the role of Swami Vivekananda. The film also has compositions of Valmiki, Tulsidas, Surdas and Rabindranath Tagore while the songs have been sung by Suresh Wadkar, Kavita Krishnamurthy and Javed Ali among others.

Gujarat Government has commemorated Swami Vivekananda’s  150th Birth Anniversary as Yuva Shakti Varsh. The Gujarat Government has taken initiatives to empower the youth with skill development and employment opportunities. The Prime Minister, Shri Narendra Modi has condoled the loss of lives due to stampede at New Delhi Railway Station. Shri Modi also wished a speedy recovery for the injured.

In a X post, the Prime Minister said;

“Distressed by the stampede at New Delhi Railway Station. My thoughts are with all those who have lost their loved ones. I pray that the injured have a speedy recovery. The authorities are assisting all those who have been affected by this stampede.”
