Bharat Mata ki Jai…!

Bharat Mata ki Jai…!

Bharat Mata ki Jai…!

Respected Shri Nitin Gadkariji, all the national level office bearers of Bharatiya Janata Party, all the office bearers of Delhi unit of BJP and present in huge number all dear party worker Ladies and Gentlemen…!

Friends, I had never thought in life that I would get so much affection from you at 11, Ashoka Road, the party office. I am very grateful to you for the warm welcome and honor that you have given me. There is a specific reason why this incident is touching my heart. I spent important years of my life at this very 11, Ashoka Road. For many years, in one small room of this same 11, Ashoka Road, I used to do party’s work assigned to me. Brothers & Sisters, I say this from my experience, that this is the result of power of Indian democracy and strength of BJP’s organization that a person who used to spend days sitting in a corner of this office, stayed here for many years, met very few of you, used to work like a ‘Sadhak’ (devotee) working silently behind a curtain, but it is the power of the organization that has raised me to this level. And similarly, it is the power and ability of Indian democracy that by democratic process and power of votes, it can give a huge responsibility to even a commonest man and the voters of Gujarat have given me this responsibility through the democratic system. And I have come here to give account to my friends as a BJP worker. Brothers & Sisters, I am your colleague and being a colleague, I must give account to you and today is the chance for me to do that before you.

Friends, it is the result of constant hard work of lakhs of workers of Bharatiya Janata Party that today when Governments change within 2 or 2½ years, masses elect one Government three times for 12 long years, it proves the work of BJP’s organization and the Govt. Brothers & Sisters, today I am also satisfied that whatever my Government did during this 12 years of governance, whichever responsibility BJP gave us, the efforts we made to accomplish that, it is the result of that. And I feel proud that every person who loves Mother India, living anywhere in the world, is feeling proud and raising his head with honor. And being a BJP worker, it becomes my duty to fulfill the responsibility that I am entrusted in such a manner, that all my party workers can get the ability to challenge the world with confidence and pride.

Brothers & Sisters, I have tried to fulfill the responsibilities that you gave me as one of your colleagues and every time voters of Gujarat have put their stamp on those good works. Brothers & Sisters, I would surely tell the workers from my Gujarat experience that there is no alternative to hard work. Brothers & Sisters, I do believe that now the expectations and desires of common man have quite increased and to fulfill them, running the Govt. with dedication for people, to satisfy people itself is a very big liability. But we have been able to do that sacred task properly due to the moral values which I got from this party and support of every small and big worker of the party. And I am proud that I have tried to carry out the liability that I have been given in such a manner that Bharatiya Janata Party is satisfied and BJP worker can take pride.

Brothers & Sisters, today in the country as well as in the world, BJP’s Gujarat governance is being talked about. I can see that for the last few years many prominent people of the country, even people of different political parties too, have been coming to Gujarat without even doing any media hype. They have studied in detail with the Govt., studied about the development schemes and their implementation. I invite my Delhi friends too that if the Party decides, some of you may come to Gujarat for 5-7 days and see the Govt. administration and the model that Gujarat has offered. And you have already run such big Delhi and also have seen. And I would insist that if we have any flaws, please tell us so that we can do better and serve the country in a better way. Brothers & Sisters, you may not be from Gujarat, you may not have anything to do with Gujarat, in spite of that if you have any suggestion that can be done in Gujarat and if you send it to me I will welcome it as a worker and try how those things can be implemented.

Brothers & Sisters, today I came here to attend NDC meeting and in the meeting I put my point before the Prime Minister and said that it is the country’s misfortune that the post where you are, the place from where you are speaking, an atmosphere of despair is being created in the country. Whatever you are saying, is taking the country to the bottom of deep despair. I put my point very strongly and said that you neither have any thought nor vision, there are no diligent people or any action plan to take the nation forward..!  And if this continues, we do not know how much would the country suffer. You will be shocked that before one year the Planning Commission and Indian Govt. had decided a 9% growth rate. We are much ahead of them but they could not even achieve 9% and got stuck at 7.9%. Friends, the matter of sadness is different, this time they have even stopped thinking about 9% and decided to achieve 8.2% growth rate. Now presently it is 7.9% and to achieve 8.2 means increasing by only 0.3%…! And to take this country 0.3% ahead, the whole country was gathered in Delhi today. I said that even if we all Chief Ministers make whatever efforts, but the way you are running Delhi, it does not seem possible. They have to struggle so much for this mere 0.3%, this is the condition of Delhi Government… while Gujarat is growing at 11% plus rate. In the field of agriculture, they are not able to cross 2.5-3%, whereas Gujarat is not coming below 10%. Means there is so many mismatches… today I kept all points before him. I told him that at least think a bit, the youth of the country, 65% population of India is below 35 years of age. 65% of Indian population being below 35 years means India is full of youth power. But to make this youth power join nation building, you do not have any thought, any dream, any scheme or any political will. Brothers & Sisters, you can imagine how this headship is operating this country.

Brothers & Sisters, if today there is any hope in the country, it is because of hard work of some States. A program was running since Indira Gandhi’s time, 20 point program, which was for the betterment of the poor. Whichever Government came, they continued it. It was also continued during Atalji’s time, and it was also continued further. Every 6 months its review was released. And for the last 10 years Gujarat has always got first place in implementation of 20 point program for the benefit of poor. Not only this, not a single Congress or even UPA ruled State is among first five. And when I said in a meeting before one year that this is your situation and none of your State is performing, what did Indian Govt. do? Instead of motivating their States to outperform Modi and move ahead, they took a decision that the 6 monthly Indian Govt. reports would not be released, because it was their insult…! Means they are trying to find such ways that would take the country to the bottom. It is very difficult to expect good deeds, good thinking, progress or any such thing from the current Congress party’s leadership.

Brothers & Sisters, Gujarat has promised to reach at the new heights of development and Gujarat is moving forward with the dream of equaling developed powers of the world. Friends, if China is making its domination felt in manufacturing sector, why can’t Gujarat do it, we are moving ahead with this mindset.

Brothers & Sisters, you welcomed and honored me, even our National President himself came for this, I am grateful to all of you and thank you very much..!

The demise of former Prime Minister Dr. Manmohan Singh ji has deeply pained our hearts. His passing is a tremendous loss for us as a nation. Coming to Bharat during the time of partition after losing so much, and achieving remarkable success in every field of life, is no ordinary feat. His life serves as a lesson for future generations on how to rise above hardships and challenges to reach great heights.

He will always be remembered as a kind-hearted individual, a scholarly economist, and a leader dedicated to reforms. As an economist, he served the Government of Bharat in various capacities. During a challenging time, he played the role of the Governor of the Reserve Bank of India. As the Finance Minister in the government of former Prime Minister and Bharat Ratna Shri P.V. Narasimha Rao ji, he steered the country out of a financial crisis and paved the way for a new economic direction. His contributions as the Prime Minister towards the country’s development and progress will always be cherished.

His commitment to the people and the nation's development will forever be held in high regard. Dr. Manmohan Singh ji's life was a reflection of honesty and simplicity. He was an extraordinary parliamentarian. His humility, gentleness, and intellect defined his parliamentary life. I remember mentioning earlier this year, when his tenure in the Rajya Sabha ended, that his dedication as a Member of Parliament is an inspiration to all. Even during crucial moments of parliamentary sessions, he would attend in a wheelchair and fulfil his parliamentary duties.

Despite being educated at some of the world's most prestigious institutions and holding numerous top positions in the government, he never forgot the values of his humble background. Rising above partisan politics, he always maintained connections with people across party lines and remained approachable to everyone. During my tenure as Chief Minister, I had open discussions with Dr. Manmohan Singh ji on various national and international issues. Even after coming to Delhi, I would frequently meet and converse with him. I will always remember our discussions about the country and our meetings. Recently, I spoke to him on his birthday.

In this difficult moment, I extend my condolences to his family. On behalf of all the citizens of the country, I pay tribute to Dr. Manmohan Singh ji.
