ఈ సందర్భంగా ఏర్పాటైన ఒక బహిరంగ సభను ఉద్దేశించి ఆయన ప్రసంగిస్తూ, ఒకప్పుడు తీవ్రమైన నీటి ఎద్దడిని ఎదుర్కొన్న గుజరాత్ ఆ రోజుల నుండి చాలా దూరం పయనించిందన్నారు.
గత రెండు దశాబ్దాల కాలంలో గుజరాత్ అభివృద్ధి ప్రయాణంలో అనేక సకారాత్మకమైన మార్పులు చోటు చేసుకొన్నట్లు ఆయన చెప్పారు.
జల లభ్యత ఎంత ఎక్కువ మంది ప్రజలకు దక్కితే అంత ఎక్కువగా ప్రగతికి ద్వారాలు తెరచుకొంటాయి అని ప్రధాన మంత్రి అన్నారు. నీటిని సాధ్యమైనంత త్వరగా అందివ్వడమే ప్రభుత్వ ప్రాధాన్యమని ఆయన స్పష్టంచేశారు. నీటిని వీలయినంతవరకు సంరక్షిస్తూ, జాగ్రత్తగా వాడుకోవలసిన బాధ్యత కూడా ఉందని తెలిపారు.
జల సంరక్షణ రంగంలో అత్యాధునిక సాంకేతిక విజ్ఞానాన్ని అనుసరించాలని ప్రధాన మంత్రి పిలుపునిచ్చారు.
