BJP wants to protect Tamil Nadu from the trap of corruption, says Prime Minister Modi

Prime Minister Narendra Modi today held a public meeting in Vedaranyam town of Tamil Nadu. Speaking at the event, Shri Narendra Modi thanked the people of Vedaranyam for attending the rally in huge numbers. He added that Tamil Nadu wished to see a change from the two alternatives that have been ruling the state over the years.

The Prime Minister said that BJP wanted to take the state to newer heights of progress. “All over India, wherever BJP has formed Governments, the focus has been only on one thing and that is development”, he added further. The PM stated that for BJP, only development was the agenda with a focus on transforming lives of the poor and the marginalised by providing them with basic amenities like 24/7 power supply, good education and health facilities.

The Prime Minister spoke about several initiatives of the NDA Government. He mentioned how the fishermen in Varanasi were benefitted with the introduction of e-boats. He highlighted about the Mudra Yojana that was enabling the budding entrepreneurs become self-reliant and Government’s Crop Insurance Scheme was safeguarding the interests of the farmers and empowering them. Taking a jibe at previous UPA government at Centre, Shri Modi alleged that they were indulged in acts of corruption. “When the previous Government was in power there were so many instances of corruption. Even coal wasn't spared. Then there was 2G spectrum scam”, the PM said. He mentioned how it involved leaders from prominent parties. The PM stated clearly that the upcoming state elections were about protecting Tamil Nadu from the trap of corruption.

The Prime Minister said that the BJP was dedicated to well-being of the people of Tamil Nadu and wanted the state to prosper and add to India’s growth. He urged people of the state to turn out in large numbers and elect a BJP Government.
