QuoteWhether it is about providing the poor with access to sanitation, clean cooking fuel and electricity or about making India the sixth largest economy in the world, our government has achieved historic milestones in the last five years: Prime Minister Modi

Prime Minister Narendra Modi addressed two large public rallies in Junagadh and Songadh in Gujarat today.

Lashing out at the Congress for the ‘Tughlaq Road Chunavi Ghotala’ in which huge amounts of illicit cash has been discovered by the Income Tax officers during their recent raids in Madhya Pradesh Congress aides, PM Modi said, “People have seen how huge amounts of cash have been discovered from senior Congress people. This is the latest scam of the Congress-‘Tughlaq Road Chunavi Ghotala.’ This is the money that Congress politicians have diverted from welfare schemes of the poor and are using it to enrich themselves.”

Enlisting the significant milestones achieved by the government since 2014, Prime Minister Modi said that while the country had taken rapid strides in improving the lives of its people, it was noteworthy that this government had achieved all this despite being totally free from corruption, a malice that was endemic in Congress years. He added, “Whether it is about providing the poor with access to sanitation, clean cooking fuel and electricity or about making India the sixth largest economy in the world, our government has achieved historic milestones in the last five years without indulging in any corruption to get our tasks done. This is a historic achievement in its own right.” PM Modi further spoke about the growing popularity of the ‘Main Bhi Chowkidar’ movement across all sections of society and expressed delight that the citizens were standing besides him and doing their bit for the country, thus imbibing the true spirit of a ‘Chowkidar.’

Launching a scathing attack on the Congress for disrespecting great leaders like Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel and Morarji Desai, PM Modi said, “The country knows what the first-family of Congress did to Sardar Patel. The Congress totally forgot Sardar Patel, who played a significant role in preserving the Somnath temple and continues to disrespect Patel’s great legacy. Similarly, Morarji Desai also suffered the same fate when the Congress toppled his government because Morarji Bapu did not bow down to the first-family and was a man of principles. Today, the Congress is extremely shocked because they could not harm the government of this ‘Chowkidar’ (PM Modi) in the last five years.”

Urging his supporters to turn out and vote for the upcoming Lok Sabha elections in support of the BJP, Prime Minister Modi asserted that only the stability, transparency and decisiveness of a BJP government can fully address the issues of a developing economy like India while also working tirelessly towards fulfilling the aspirations of the young, 21st century India. He further added that a failure to elect such a government will give a chance to power to opportunist alliances like the ‘Maha-milawat’ and strengthen the voices of those parties that support decisions like having a separate PM for Jammu and Kashmir or weakening the Indian armed forces. He reminded people to not fall prey to the false, unrealistic promises in the Congress ‘Dhakosala-Patr’ because that would lead to a catastrophic downfall for the economy.
