The Prime Minister, Shri Narendra Modi, today addressed the Indian community in Dubai, UAE.
He unveiled a replica of the Temple, whose Shila Poojan was being conducted at Abu Dhabi simultaneously.
Addressing the gathering, he said that it is after many years that the relationship between India and the countries of the Gulf region is so strong. He also commended the Indian community for working together with the people of the Gulf region, as partners in their dreams for the future. He described this as a partnership between two peoples.
The Prime Minister thanked His Highness the Crown Prince Al Nahyan for allotting land for the construction of a Temple. He expressed hope that the Temple would give an opportunity to the whole world to experience Vasudhaiva Kutumbakam - the world is one family. He said the rulers of the UAE had expressed much confidence in Indian values - and it is now incumbent upon the Indian community to fulfil those expectations.
He said there is now new confidence and expectation among Indians, replacing the earlier mood of despondency.
He said India had reached 100 in Ease of Doing Business rankings, from 142, four years ago. He said the aim is to go forward. India is ready to fulfil its global responsibility, he added.
To make the 21st century Asia's century, we will need to take the required steps, even if they take a while to deliver results, the Prime Minister said.
He quoted Mahatma Gandhi to distinguish between the right thing to do and the easy thing to do. In this context he mentioned demonetization and GST.
