You might remember, we had a PM in the country who had said that if Rupee 1 is sent from Delhi, then just 15 paisa reaches the states. Such thievery continued for years. However, our government is making sure that whatever money is allotted, all of it reaches the people,” PM Modi said.

Focusing on Swachh Bharat, Prime Minister urged Odisha Chief Minister Shri Naveen Patnaik to give priority to Centre’s Cleanliness drive. “I had urged CM Naveen Babu that Odisha will be left behind in cleanliness. But today, when I have come here, I again urge Naveen Babu to give priority to cleanliness in Odisha for the health of the people here,” says PM Modi.

The PM highlighted that the Centre is opening 5 new medical colleges in the state, he said that 5 medical Colleges are coming up in Balasore, Baripada, Lingangi, Koraput & Puri and about Rs 570 crores is being provided for medical college in Rourkela.

Emphasising on Ayushman Bharat, PM Modi said that the Prime Minister Jan Arogya Yojana is commencing tomorrow. Under this scheme, 100 million poor families of the country will be given Health Assurance of up to Rs. 5 lakhs in a year for the treatment of critical illness.

“Under Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana, there has been an increase of more than 40% in the houses built in Odisha. In the last 4 years, the approval has been given for the construction of nearly 10 lakh houses in the state under the Central Govt’s scheme,” the PM stated.

Speaking about the OBC Commission, PM Modi said that it was our government which gave constitutional status to OBC Commission. Now the responsibilities of OBC Commission have the same rights as well.

While addressing the huge gathering, Prime Minister Modi talked about Triple Talaq too, he asserted that three days ago, the central govt took a decision that was needed since decades. The decision was on Triple Talaq. No one was ready to even talk about it due to the fear of losing votes. Now, it has been declared illegal.

“Dr. Manmohan Singh Ji and I interacted regularly when he was PM and I was the CM of Gujarat. We would have extensive deliberations on various subjects relating to governance. His wisdom and humility were always visible.
