On the morning of 21st April, Shri Narendra Modi addressed rallies at Hardoi, Etah, Firozabad and Mathura in Uttar Pradesh and gave the clarion call to end the misrule of SABKA – SP, BSP and Congress. Referring to the damaging politics played by the current government in UP, Shri Modi urged the people to vote them out, and stated of his resolve to have ‘Apradh-Mukt Rajneeti’ with a view to restoring the law and order situation in the State and the Nation.

Shri Modi spoke of how people will punish the arrogance of the ‘SABKA’ by voting them out in Elections 2014. The arrogance of these parties, which makes them look down upon the poor, was stated by Shri Modi, when he mentioned of how they kept referring to Shri Modi’s early days of being a tea-seller and ridiculed his struggle, living in poverty. He asserted that he was proud of his past, and of the fact that he had only sold tea and not the Nation (referring to the Central government’s destructive politics). “I am not at all sad that I was born in a backward community in a poor household. But yes, I am sad when leaders of Cong, SP, BSP mock the poor. The language they use...it’s not about Narendra Modi. It is only about their regressive mentality. Those who make fun of my poverty I want to tell them- yes I sold tea but I never sold the nation and I am proud of this,” said Shri Modi.

Shri Modi further attacked this lack of compassion on the part of the Congress by stating how ‘poverty’ was a tourist opportunity for them, which witnessed them visiting the homes of the poor with cameramen and getting themselves clicked to gain publicity. He recalled his childhood spent in poverty and reinforced that his sour experiences then had only strengthened his resolve to serve the poor.

Retaliating strongly to the statements of Congress leaders of how ‘there was no Modi wave, but only poison being spread’, Shri Modi said that he would prove to be poison to only those who indulged in divisive and destructive politics, and to those who had betrayed the country.

Shri Modi categorically stated that the ruin witnessed in UP was solely due to the game of politics played between the ‘Father-Son’ (referring to Mulayam-Akhilesh Yadav) and ‘Behenji’ (Mayawati), wherein each party took turns to rule the State and penalize the other, instead of focusing on the welfare of the people. He further added how the ‘Mother-Son’ duo in Delhi provoked each of these parties and worsened the situation, thereby bringing only ruin to UP.

He expressed deep concern for the lawlessness in UP, wherein almost every person was in possession of a weapon for their personal safety. Assuring the people of UP that such chaos will not continue for a long time, Shri Modi said that after the declaration of results on 16th May, a committee would be formed to assess all politicians with a tainted background and fast-track redressing of the cases will be ensured, so as to have an ‘Apradh-Mukt Rajneeti’ (clean politics). “Be it BJP, NDA or any other party, no one will be spared. Those who have committed crimes must be punished. We want a Parliament free from criminals. Criminals will be in jail and when the elections happen again, clean candidates will come,” said Shri Modi. Recalling the good governance and clean politics witnessed in the State under Former CM of UP Shri Kalyan Singh, Shri Modi appealed to the people to support the BJP and enable the Party to continue the tradition of development.

In Firozabad, Shri Modi spoke of the pitiable condition of farmers in the State, and shared how Gujarat had solved its problem of water crisis by installing pipelines across the State and ensuring water to thousands of villages. He also spoke of the immense scope for small scale industries in the region, but expressed shock at how the Central government’s encouragement to Chinese industries had led to the ruin of these small industries. Highlighting the potential of the glass industry in Firozabad, Shri Modi called for the need to have better work facilities in this sector, and suggested the setting up of an educational institution that would train the youth in working more effectively in this sector. Speaking on the adoption of unfair practises in polling booths in Firozabad, Shri Modi requested the Election Commission of India to ensure fair voting.

Shri Modi spoke of the immense scope for tourism in Mathura and Vrundavan and assured that under the BJP, the spiritual significance of the region will be put across to the world more effectively. This will not only give a boost to the tourism prospects of the region, but would also improve the potential of providing livelihood, said Shri Modi. He also called for the need to unclutter the polluted water of the Yamuna and cited how the Sabarmati Riverfront Development project in Gujarat had given a makeover to the Sabarmati river. “Without Yamuna, no mention of Lord Krishna is complete. But see what they have done to the Yamuna. It’s an insult,” said Shri Modi.

Shri Modi also appreciated BJP candidate from Mathura Smt. Hema Malini ji’s efforts at popularizing the culture of Lord Krishna across the world through the film industry, and said, “The world wants to know about Lord Krishna. Universities are also doing research on Lord Krishna. I congratulate Hema ji, through popular culture Lord Krishna has become popular all around the world,” said Shri Modi.

Shri Modi drew the people’s attention to the destructive politics of the Congress – who with their false promises and misleading claims had only brought ruin to the Nation – and affirmed the need for a strong and stable government. Urging the youth to vote for the change they want in their lives, Shri Modi appealed to them to vote for the BJP, and give the chance to a ‘sevak’ to serve the Nation.

Former CM of Uttar Pradesh Shri Kalyan Singh and Shri Rajveer Singh were present during the rally in Etah, while Shri Satpal Maharaj was present during the rally in Firozabad.
