Malaysian Prime Minister Mohammed Najib Razak strongly supported the vision of the Indian Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi. 

"I must congratulate you for being a good reformist. For doing things what lesser mortals would not have attempted,"said PM Razak. “I wish you success because if you are courageous enough to do the reforms, I am sure you will reap the rewards in due course," he further added.

Agreeing with PM Modi’s vision, "The next century will belong to Asia", the Malaysian Prime Minister emphasized on cooperation between the two countries at the ASEAN Business Leaders Conclave. 

PM Razak appreciated PM Modi’s initiative of the GST and tax reforms and promised to share their experiences.

In connection with the Indian government’s plan to roll out GST in 2017, we are happy to share our own experience of GST introduction with a high level delegation for India that visited Malaysia recently. We share a mutual resolve to provide a transparent and predictable tax regime as well as protection to intellectual property rights,” added he added.

He also said that both countries are together on the issue of terrorism. He promised to support India in this matter at the UN.

ASEAN Business Leaders Conclave is happening at Malaysia's capital Kuala Lumpur. Prime Minister Narendra Modi inaugurated  the Conclave jointly with the Malaysian Prime Minister Najib Razak through video conferencing.

PM Modi meets Prime Minister of Saint Lucia

On the sidelines of the Second India-CARICOM Summit, Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi held productive discussions on 20 November with the Prime Minister of Saint Lucia, H.E. Mr. Philip J. Pierre.

The leaders discussed bilateral cooperation in a range of issues including capacity building, education, health, renewable energy, cricket and yoga. PM Pierre appreciated Prime Minister’s seven point plan to strengthen India- CARICOM partnership.

Both leaders highlighted the importance of collaboration in addressing the challenges posed by climate change, with a particular focus on strengthening disaster management capacities and resilience in small island nations.
