As a part of the ‘She Inspires Us’ campaign, Vijaya Pawar of Maharashtra took over PM Modi’s social media accounts and shared the wonderful Banjara handicrafts and familiarized everyone with the artworks.
Vijaya Pawar has been making Banjara handicrafts for the last two decades. Through PM Modi’s social media accounts, she informed how she has been able to encourage thousands of women artisans under her guidance.
Tweeting in Marathi, she wrote that PM Modi not only encouraged them to promote ‘Gormati art’ but also provided financial assistance. She said that it was a matter of glory for the women associated with the Banjara handicraft.
You have heard about handicrafts from different parts of India. My fellow Indians, I present to you handicrafts of the Banjara community in rural Maharashtra. I have been working on this for the last 2 decades and have been assisted by a thousand more women- Vijaya Pawar pic.twitter.com/A3X47245E3
