Hon’ble CM slams PM’s statement on doubting Anna Hazare’s mission

Addressing a rally in Golakganj, Assam on Wednesday, Shri Narendra Modi sternly criticized Prime Minister Manmohan Singh’s statement on doubting social activist Anna Hazare’s mission ‘fast unto death’ against corruption, demanding an anti-corruption bill.

Prime Minister’s statement that the social activist was fasting under the influence of some persons and vested interests ''was not only insulting to Hazare but also to the nation as a whole'', the Chief Minister said.''

Shri Modi claimed that Singh had said Hazare’s fast will lead to an emergency like situation that the country faced in 1975 (when Indian independence activist Jayaprakash Narayan began a fast to protest corruption after Indira Gandhi was found guilty of violating electoral laws by the Allahabad High Court).
