With Prime Minister Narendra Modi's public address in Kolar today, the campaign for the upcoming Karnataka Assembly elections has started to gather pace. Addressing the massive crowd, the PM said, “This election of Karnataka is not just to make MLA, Minister or CM for the coming 5 years. This election is to strengthen the foundation of the roadmap of a developed India in the coming 25 years.”

"Karnataka needs to be rescued from an unstable government and the grip of Congress and JD(S). The BJP government at the Center has successfully accomplished long overdue tasks that had been pending for decades. Your one vote for BJP has changed the situation,” stated PM Modi. He also mentioned that during the Congress government's reign of corruption prior to 2014, the world had given up all hopes from India.

PM Modi talked about the good connectivity in the region, he said, “An example of how good connectivity benefits are the famous Mulbagal Dosa. Good connectivity has made the taste of this dosa reach far and wide.”

Slamming the Congress party who never cared for the farmers, PM Modi asserted, “Back in 2004, the Congress had made a commitment in its manifesto to introduce a direct income support initiative for farmers, which had garnered their votes. However, the party failed to follow through on this promise. They repeated the same promise in their manifesto for the 2009 elections, yet still did not take any action. It was the BJP government that ultimately implemented programs like the PM-Kisan Samman Nidhi.”

PM Modi alleged that the Congress has been deceiving and lying to the public since independence. He accused the party of corruption, citing a Congress leader's statement that only 15 paise out of every rupee released by the government actually reaches the people, and questioned who pocketed the remaining 85 paise. Congress used to snatch 85 paise of the rights of the poor. PM Modi proudly stated that the current BJP government ensures that 100% of the money sent from Delhi reaches every beneficiary.

Mounting attack on the Gandhi family (without naming them), PM Modi iterated, “Even today the royal family of Congress and its close people are out on bail in scams worth thousands of crores. PM Modi questioned the credibility of those preaching against corruption while being out on bail themselves. He pointed out that the Congress party's top leaders are plagued with corruption allegations, and the Congress lacks the ability to take action against corrupt individuals.

Alleging that Congress was abusing him, as he has shut all its sources of corruption, PM Modi claimed that only BJP can provide stable and strong government in Karnataka. In Kolar, PM Modi once again hit out at the grand old party for abusing him, referring to Congress president M Mallikarjun Kharge's 'venomous snake' barb at him.

The PM has urged everyone in the state to come out and vote in large numbers for the BJP. "Ee Baariya Nirdhara, Bahumatada BJP Sarkara- can be heard everywhere...."Lotus is the sign of Karnataka's progress, only BJP has the roadmap for development," he further added.

Ahead of the elections in Karnataka, PM Modi addressed a rally at Channapatna, Karnataka. PM said that in an unstable government there was only conflict and no development. He remarked, "The Congress and the JD(S) are responsible for this instability. Though they come across as two different political parties but in reality they are one."

"They both promote dynastic politics, corruption and political opportunism. They are just interested in preserving their familial heritage and are not interested in the development of the people of Karnataka. Hence, all the votes cast for the JD(S) will benefit the Congress," he added further.

Even in the case of farmers, PM Modi said that the Congress party has only sought to pocket the funds allocated to them, misleading various farmers. "Karnataka is ‘silk state’ and the Congress Governments have done nothing for them. We at BJP have enabled them a support of Rs. 10,000/ton. We are also enabling the production of quality silk by providing the necessary support and encouragement. India today is exporting fine quality silk which is also benefitting the farmers," PM Modi elaborated.

Stating that Congress was a party that promoted deceit and dishonesty, PM Modi mentioned, "Another example of this is in the state of Himachal Pradesh, where the Congress government had promised that they would provide every women beneficiary with Rs. 1,500 if they are elected to power. No money has been provided to any of the women in the state showcasing the unfaithful character of the Congress party."

PM Modi said, “Channapatna is also the land of toys”. He added that the Congress governments have destroyed the cultural heritage of these toys by encouraging toys of foreign origin, whereas the BJP Government has taken all the possible steps in reviving this tradition, and reduced foreign import.

At a public rally in Belur, PM Modi said, “To vote for JD(S) and Congress is equivalent to putting a break on Karnataka’s development.” He said that it was the BJP that possessed the mindset of promoting the welfare of all the residents of the state of Karnataka and to enable them to meet all their basic necessities.

In order to promote the welfare of the downtrodden sections, PM Modi said that the Congress has only indulged in vote-bank politics with them, whereas the BJP has ensured their mainstreaming and availing of all benefits leading to their growth and development. "Our government has always prioritized women empowerment, wherein all the mothers and daughters of this state and country have benefitted," he added.

The BJP Government has always has always pursued the best interests of the farmers of this country, PM Modi remarked while adding, “Worldwide the price of urea has been very expensive but in our country we have facilitated subsidized and affordable access to urea to our farmers. We have been successful in creating Nano Urea which will serve as a pioneer to better farming efforts. Along with this we have ensured to prevent disinformation campaigns on fertilizers that have hurt our farmers negatively."
PM Modi said “We have always valued the rich cultural heritage of Karnataka. Where parties like the Congress and the JD(S) have tried to destroy Karnataka’s rich cultural heritage, we have always sought to preserve it. The UNESCO nomination of the Hoysala Temple is a testimony to the same.”

Infrastructure creation has been an important aspect to development of India. With respect to this PM Modi said, “We have always sought to provide Karnataka with the infrastructure of the 21st century to enable its progress and development.”
