PM Narendra Modi today highlighted several instances of Congress’ mis-governance and their ignorance towards people of Gujarat.

Shri Modi elaborated that Congress had lost in the first round and were not even thinking about the second round as they knew people here would support the BJP. He added, “Congress has now taken to excuses. Their leaders and cheerleaders are blaming EVMs, including saying they are hacked using Bluetooth.”

|

He highlighted how Chief Minister Vijay Rupani, former CM Anandiben Patel, other ministers, karyakartas and the PM himself reviewed and ensured relief work for welfare of people when the region faced floods. He accused the Congress and its leaders to have run away from helping people in times of crises. “Gujarat was battling floods but Congress MLAs chose to spend time in Bengaluru resorts”, he added.

Shri Modi remarked, “BJP lives in the hearts of people of Gujarat.”

The PM also took a jibe at Rahul Gandhi’s ‘Aaloo ki factory’ comment and said, “Our farmers work hard and grow potato. If at all the Congress comes to power, there will be no need to do that because their leader says we will produce potatoes in factories! Congress' basic knowledge about agriculture is so poor.”

|

He lambasted at the Congress party for terming the BJP as a party dedicated to the rich. He affirmed that the BJP governments in the state had always worked for welfare and upliftment poor and would continue to do so. “During peak summer, I would go to the villages of Gujarat and ask parents to educate their children. Whose children were they? Were they Ambani's children? No. They were children of the poor. We are working for poor…When we went to the farmers, did Krishi Mahotsav, we did not go out helping the rich. We went among the poor. Sadly, Congress leaders born with golden spoons will never understand what poverty is.”

|

The PM shed light on several welfare measures that have transformed lives of people in Gujarat like Sujalam Sufalam Yojana, 108 ambulance services. He also spoke at length about neem coating of urea that immensely benefitted farmers and reduction in prices of stents.

At Nadiad, the PM said that solutions to all troubles were in development. He spoke about several development initiatives undertaken in the state in the last two decades. He rubbished Congress’ claims of lack of development in the state and said that they were only spreading lies.

“My every moment is devoted to serve the 125 crore Indians”, he added further.

The Prime Minister mentioned about the Union Government’s financial inclusion scheme – Jan Dhan Yojana and how nearly 30 crore accounts were opened. He also spoke about how the social security schemes were benefitting several lives.

At Ahmedabad, PM Modi said that India was progressing at fast pace and the world was witnessing the strides the country had been making. “If India is making a mark on the world stage it is due to the 125 crore people of India”, he added.

Shri Modi alleged that UPA did everything possible to derail Gujarat's development journey. He said, “To put gas pipelines in Gujarat's villages (when I had the required budget also), the UPA got worried and did everything to stop that. I had to go to the Supreme Court.”

|

The PM mentioned that Gujarat had two development engines - one in Gandhinagar and the other in Delhi. The PM said, “Do you see this Sabarmati River? There were circuses held earlier, now see the riverfront. This is development. But for the Congress, Vikas is only where they can make money.” In this context, he spoke about the Pragati initiative that helped accelerate the pace of development.

The PM spoke about his vision of connecting waterways, government’s stress on Swachhata and the startup sector.

PM Modi’s remarks during the BRICS session: Peace and Security
July 06, 2025

Friends,

Global peace and security are not just ideals, rather they are the foundation of our shared interests and future. Progress of humanity is possible only in a peaceful and secure environment. BRICS has a very important role in fulfilling this objective. It is time for us to come together, unite our efforts, and collectively address the challenges we all face. We must move forward together.

Friends,

Terrorism is the most serious challenge facing humanity today. India recently endured a brutal and cowardly terrorist attack. The terrorist attack in Pahalgam on 22nd April was a direct assault on the soul, identity, and dignity of India. This attack was not just a blow to India but to the entire humanity. In this hour of grief and sorrow, I express my heartfelt gratitude to the friendly countries who stood with us and expressed support and condolences.

Condemning terrorism must be a matter of principle, and not just of convenience. If our response depends on where or against whom the attack occurred, it shall be a betrayal of humanity itself.

Friends,

There must be no hesitation in imposing sanctions on terrorists. The victims and supporters of terrorism cannot be treated equally. For the sake of personal or political gain, giving silent consent to terrorism or supporting terrorists or terrorism, should never be acceptable under any circumstances. There should be no difference between our words and actions when it comes to terrorism. If we cannot do this, then the question naturally arises whether we are serious about fighting terrorism or not?

Friends,

Today, from West Asia to Europe, the whole world is surrounded by disputes and tensions. The humanitarian situation in Gaza is a cause of grave concern. India firmly believes that no matter how difficult the circumstances, the path of peace is the only option for the good of humanity.

India is the land of Lord Buddha and Mahatma Gandhi. We have no place for war and violence. India supports every effort that takes the world away from division and conflict and leads us towards dialogue, cooperation, and coordination; and increases solidarity and trust. In this direction, we are committed to cooperation and partnership with all friendly countries. Thank you.

Friends,

In conclusion, I warmly invite all of you to India next year for the BRICS Summit, which will be held under India’s chairmanship.

Thank you very much.
