The condition of India’s farmers would have been much better if Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel had been the first PM of India: PM Modi in U.P.

Continuing his election campaigning spree, Prime Minister Narendra Modi visited Bahraich and Barabanki in Uttar Pradesh today where he spoke about various issues ranging from national security to transparent governance in detail before highlighting the significance of the ongoing Lok Sabha elections for the future of the country.

Explaining the importance of a strong and stable government at the Centre, PM Modi said, “A strong, stable, transparent and people-centric government is extremely crucial for a growing, aspirational country like India, something which the people of India have witnessed in the last five years. The Mahamilawati gang of Congress-SP-BSP have failed the people in the past with their ineffective governance and endemic corruption and their track records show that they will do so if they are given a chance again.”

Prime Minister Modi described the key schemes and milestones of his government including providing near-universal access of basic services to the poorest sections of society as well as furthering India’s repute on the international stage. He further said, “The last five years have shown the world what the people of India are capable of achieving with the right government that puts their interests first.”

Lambasting the Congress party for years of misrule, PM Modi said the condition of India’s farmers would have been much better if Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel had been the first PM of India and added that the years of corruption and poor policy implementation of Congress was largely responsible for the plight of the farmers in the country.
