The Prime Minister, Shri Narendra Modi attended theme-based sessions on the second day of the Conference of DGPs in Kutch today.

Earlier in the morning, he attended the morning Yoga session along with the delegates. He witnessed the sunrise at the White Rann. 

Theme based presentations on various aspects of policing marked the day as the Prime Minister joined the deliberations. He observed and listened to the interactions on security-related matters including terrorism, cyber-security, digital technology, women’s safety and disaster management. The presentations, break-out sessions and interactions over meals, were scheduled for a total of 13 hours today.Home Minister Shri Rajnath Singh, and Ministers of State for Home, Shri Kiren Rijiju and Shri HaribhaiParthibhai Chaudhary were present during the sessions.

PM Modi meets with President of Suriname

Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi met with the President of Suriname, H.E. Mr. Chandrikapersad Santokhi on the sidelines of the 2nd India-CARICOM Summit in Georgetown, Guyana on 20 November.

The two leaders reviewed the progress of ongoing bilateral initiatives and agreed to enhance cooperation in areas such as defense and security, trade and commerce, agriculture, digital initiatives and UPI, ICT, healthcare and pharmaceuticals, capacity building, culture and people to people ties. President Santokhi expressed appreciation for India's continued support for development cooperation to Suriname, in particular to community development projects, food security initiatives and small and medium enterprises.

Both leaders also exchanged views on regional and global developments. Prime Minister thanked President Santokhi for the support given by Suriname to India’s membership of the UN Security Council.
