On Wednesday 22nd January 2014 Shri Narendra Modi joined the State Executive meet of the Gujarat BJP SC Morcha. The meeting was held at Gandhinagar’s Town Hall. Delegates from all across Gujarat attended the meeting.
Addressing the delegates, Shri Modi said that the BJP is both
Sarvavyapi and
Sarvasparshi. He dispelled the misconception that the BJP is a political party whose popularity is restricted to the cities, saying that the various elections have shattered this myth. Shri Modi said that the BJP has emerged victorious in the villages and in the cities, winning the hearts of people both in cities and the villages. Similarly, Shri Modi dispelled the notion that the BJP was a party restricted to Northern India, saying that the BJP is in government in Goa and has emerged victorious in Karnataka, Maharashtra and was a part of a coalition in Odisha as well.
Shri Modi affirmed that the support of the Dalit community has added tremendous strength to the BJP. He cited the recent Assembly Elections in Madhya Pradesh, Chhattisgarh and Rajasthan where the BJP has won a substantially more number of seats reserved for the SC community.
He even spoke about the efforts of the Gujarat government for the SC communities, including building of hostels for youngsters. He reiterated that the BJP is a party committed to social equality, social harmony and the welfare of the each and every section of society, especially the marginalized sections of society. Shri Modi talked about efforts to empower the youngsters of the SC community so that they can contribute to the development of the nation.
Minister for Social Justice and Empowerment Shri Ramanlal Vora, Shri Bharat Pandya, Shri Kirit Solanki among other dignitaries were present on the occasion.
