On the afternoon of 5th April, Shri Narendra Modi accompanied Shri LK Advani at the filing of Shri Advani’s nomination papers from Gandhinagar Lok Sabha constituency. Shri Modi addressed the karyakartas on the occasion and urged them to put in maximum efforts so as to ensure a record win for the BJP in the 2014 Lok Sabha elections. Shri Modi also admired Shri Advani’s momentous contribution in the BJP’s success journey and appealed to the supporters to work relentlessly towards ensuring Shri Advani’s and the BJP’s victory.

“For lakhs of Karyakartas, we had the privilege of learning so much from Advani ji. Whatever we can do for Advani ji, it is less. It is our privilege that we are getting to serve BJP, India and Advani ji,” said Shri Modi, even as he stressed on the significance of winning in all 26 seats, along with Daman Diu and Dadra Nagar Haveli.

Affirming of the Congress’ wipe-out, Shri Modi urged the supporters to shun any negative reports or lies that come across, and instead work towards winning at the booth level and ensuring a Congress-mukt India. “We want to make India crisis free and we want to make it Congress free. We don't only want to win Lok Sabha seats. I will be happy when we win maximum polling booths. Come what may, let there be any amount of lies, we should work towards victory at the polling booth level. Elections in May are challenging. It is peak summer and people also attend marriages. Yet, we have to ensure maximum voting. If we win at polling booth level, no one can stop us from winning,” said Shri Modi.

Stating that the Elections would witness the worst defeat of the Congress in the history, Shri Modi affirmed that the focus must be on ensuring maximum turnout for the strength of the Democracy, and not just for BJP’s victory. “High turnout is a Puja of democracy. Media, NGOs are doing a lot to ensure maximum voting, and the Election Commission too is doing a lot to increase turnout. We have to make Advani ji win by a record margin, and we have to win seats in Lok Sabha, Assembly bye-elections too,” said Shri Modi.

Gujarat BJP President Shri RC Faldu, Revenue Minister Smt. Anandiben Patel, Shri Om Mathur were among the senior leaders present on the occasion.
