Modi wins the Nano race for Gujarat

West Bengal's loss has now turned into Gujarat's gain. Thanks to its CM, Narendra Modi. He managed to bag Tata's prestigious Nano car project to Gujarat. The Nano project will not only generate revenue for the state, but will also attract other investors.

NARENDRA MODI, the CM of Gujarat was not much into news ever since he won the assembly elections. But Modi has once again proved that he is industrial friendly and wants his state to develop in all aspects.

A man of strong beliefs, who got elected for the third consecutive tenure, he has proved that he is worth the position. Such a dynamic person should lead the nation. This time he successfully diverted the prestigious Tata's Nano car project to his state. There were other states like Maharastra, Andhra Pradesh, Madhya Pradesh and Uttarakhand in the fray, but he managed to beat them all. After the unhappy stay in West Bengal, the Tata group moved the Nano car plant to Sanand near Ahmedabad in Gujarat. The estimated amount for the plant is around Rs 2,000 crore. The group has announced that they will meet their deadline of rolling out the Rs one lakh car by early 2009.

Tata Motors have came a long way. It had to face a severe agitation at its mother plant in Singur. The state of Guajarat has allocated 1100 acres of land to the Tatas. The proximity of the project land to the state capital would be of great advantage.

The land is already under the state government, and this will increase the pace of the project. The plant is moving to the new site alongwith its 60 vendors. This will create new employment opportunities in the state. Tata's Nano is expected to hit the road in the first quarter of 2009.

The industrial friendly nature of Gujarat has attracted huge investment in the state. There are a number of big projects in the pipeline. These will take off once the financial condition stabilises. This corporate friendly nature of the CM is reflected in the increase in share prices of all the scripts whose name included ‘Gujarat' on the day of the outcome of the results of the Ahmedabad polls. Every state require such a CM, who holds the people's interest above his own. The CM should be credited for converting the downtrodden state into one of the most developed states of the nation, which today is home to a large number of big corporate houses. The state has changed drastically during his tenure.

Today, the nation needs more Modis, who knows when and how to strike the perfect
