Chief Minister Shri Narendrabhai Modi described the Vibrant Gujarat Global Investors’ Summit as the “power house of knowledge, skill, talents, intelligence and entrepreneurship, it is not merely a platform for forward looking prospective investors’ but it shows the path to them. Chief Minister delivered an inspiring keynote address after inaugurating the Summit. He considered the challenges that springs from the ongoing recessionary trends, as an opportunity. For that he prescribed the R A C E formula.

Vibrant Gujarat Global Investors’ Summit has touched the chord; the impressive event has carved out a niche for itself, not only in India but in the entire world. Chief Minister inaugurated the Summit in the august presence of leading corporates, industrial tycoons, business wizards, and financial entities and luminaries from all across the world. Prime Minister of Kenya Shri Raila Odinga, Partner Country’ Japan’s Consul General Shri Hirotsugu Hagiuda, Ambassador of Japan Mr. Hideaki Domichi, and the business delegations from 37 countries have made their presence felt. In one voice, all the dignitaries accorded full credit to Shri Narendrabhai Modi’s dynamism, vision and leadership acumen, for architecting a global brand image for Gujarat.

Shri Narendrabhai Modi acknowledged with gratitude for the keen interest shown by the delegations from the various nations. The Summit has become a symbol of global unity, welfare and a way of life coupled with sincere and earnest endeavors of development. Gujarat has shown the path to the world, by organizing the summit. “We have expressed our grit and gumption to convert the crisis in to an opportunity, also showing ways to escape economic chills of the meltdown” added the C.M.

Gujarat has accepted a challenge to offer a new model of development for the developing nations. Gujarat has also offered an opportunity to mirror innate strengths capabilities and latent potential by which the developing nations can blaze their own trails of development according to the local conditions.

Special thrust is given to the development for the Small and Medium Scale industries SMEs. Chief Minister highlighted the theme of realizing the laudable goal of Zero defect productions, reducing the cost of production and also showing ways to capture the global markets by braving the tough global competitions.

Chief Minister believed that the R A C E formula can convert the global economic crisis in to an opportunity, “Lower Risk- Alertness- Low Cost and high Efficiency can really work wonders.” Gujarat has all the attribute and virtues.

Elaborating upon the fresh strategies of development, Chief Minister said,” Gujarat has immense potential to convert any dam challenge in to a glittering opportunity. We have to strike an ideal balance between agriculture developments, industrial growth and development of service sector.

He made an important announcement that Japan has come forth as partner country. It has happened due to the reputation, strength and credibility of Gujarat. The Delhi Mumbai freight Corridor has opened up glorious avenues of development in the State. The Special Economic Zones across the 1600 K.M long coast lines, Special Investors’ Regions, optimum logistic support system projects Gujarat as the gateway to development and excellence. The partnership with Japan will bring a turning point in the favour of Gujarat. Chief Minister outlined the immense opportunities available in Gems and Jewlellery and tourism sectors.

He expressed his firm confidence that after realizing the goals and vision of Swarnim Gujarat by the year 2010, when the next Summit will be organized in the year 2011, efforts are aimed to set Gujarat on the Pinnacle of success and development.

He observed that the Summit would offer an innovative Model of development for the developing nations. The MOUs and Investments in a broad sense are of course vital, but it is really a historic event in its own light. It sends strong signals all across the world. Chief Minister found that, “The developing nations would derive confidence and find gainful insights from the Summit.”

The Secretariat of the Chief Minister was conferred ISO: 9001:2000 Award for its excellence in public service and administration on the occasion.

First such instance that a Prime Minister will attend such a programme at the Headquarters of the Catholic Church in India

Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi will attend the Christmas Celebrations hosted by the Catholic Bishops' Conference of India (CBCI) at the CBCI Centre premises, New Delhi at 6:30 PM on 23rd December.

Prime Minister will interact with key leaders from the Christian community, including Cardinals, Bishops and prominent lay leaders of the Church.

This is the first time a Prime Minister will attend such a programme at the Headquarters of the Catholic Church in India.

Catholic Bishops' Conference of India (CBCI) was established in 1944 and is the body which works closest with all the Catholics across India.
