உத்தரபிரதேச மாநிலம் வாரணாசியில் ‘காசி தமிழ் சங்கமம்’ என்னும் ஒரு மாத கால நிகழ்ச்சியை பிரதமர் திரு நரேந்திர மோடி இன்று தொடங்கி வைத்தார். நாட்டின் மிகப் பழமையான, கல்வி முக்கியத்துவம் வாய்ந்த தமிழகத்திற்கும் காசிக்கும் இடையே உள்ள பழங்காலத் தொடர்பைக் கொண்டாடுவதும், அந்தப் பெருமையை மீட்டெடுத்து உறுதிப்படுத்துவதும், இந்த திட்டத்தின் நோக்கமாகும். தமிழகத்தில் இருந்து 2500க்கும் மேற்பட்ட பிரதிநிதிகள் காசிக்கு வருகை தரவுள்ளனர். இந்த தொடக்க நிகழ்ச்சியின் போது, 13 மொழிகளில் மொழிபெயர்க்கப்பட்ட ‘திருக்குறள்’ புத்தகத்தையும் பிரதமர் வெளியிட்டார். ஆரத்தியைத் தொடர்ந்து நடைபெற்ற கலாச்சார நிகழ்ச்சிகளையும் அவர் பார்வையிட்டார்.
