Late Shri Hemant Karakare and Late Shri Vinay Saluskar, who had laid down their lives for the cause of nation while fighting a grim battle against the terror.

In an inhuman and unprecedented terror attack, the Police Officials have given supreme sacrifices. Paying respectful tributes to the Jawans, Chief Minister announced relief of Rs. 1 Crore to the Maharashtra Government for the gallantry and sacrifices of the Police Force.

Shri Narendrabhai Modi also visited J.J.Hospital, and enquired about the health of the wounded patients. He drove to the terror affected Oberoi Hotel area and sought details of the commando-operations. He congratulated Indian Army, N.S.G Commandos, Police and Fire Brigade for their resolute actions and the gallantry displayed.

Chief Minister described the terrorist attack on Mumbai as an attack on the sovereignty and self esteem of the nation.

Looking to the genesis of the terror attack, it is aimed to make India the centre point of terrorism by encompassing the foreigners from America, Britain, and Israel. To damage our diplomatic relations with the friendly nations, the recent attacks may be motivated with such dirty strategies. India should take up the issue at international level, said the Chief Minister. The objective of his visit is to boost morale of the security forces and to express his deep sympathy towards the victims. He desired to make a visit to the Taj and Oberoi Hotels, to personally congratulate the brave officials. Due to security reasons, he was not allowed for the same. He also observed the commitment and resolves to annihilate the terrorism.

Expressing his grave concern, Chief Minister made an appeal to the Union Government to scrutinise all the factors and the terror strategy seriously, under which the terrorists have browsed the Sea Routes from Pakistan for first time. He alleged that Pakistan has abrogated the treaty made in UNO, that India and Pakistan would not use land, weapons or sea routes against each other. For abrogating the pact, Indian Government ought to take up the issue at diplomatic and International levels, added the Chief Minister.

Chief Minister reminded about his representations and the issues he had raised during the National Security Council Meet. He had drawn the attention of the Prime Minister that Pakistan detains our Mariners and their Boats. While releasing the Mariners, they do not hand over the detained boats. He had made it abundantly clear, that such boats are feared to be utilised for anti national activities. The present revelations indicate that the terrorists have utilised the seized marine vehicles. During the bilateral talks with Pakistan, India should sternly take up the issue with all its seriousness.

He had reiterated his view, that to draft out the policies of our internal security, Prime Minister ought to convene an urgent meeting of all the Chief Ministers. To chalk out joint strategy, the Western coastal States and Central Security Agencies, Indian Navy and coast guard must sit together and contemplate coastal securities.

Expressing his disappointment towards the Prime Minister's address to the nation, Chief Minister said that considering the graveness and the big threat of terror, the message does not fulfil the aspirations of the people.

B.J.P Leader Shri Vinod Tavade, Shri Kirit Somaiya, Shri Ram Nayak and Principal Secretary to the Chief Minister Shri. K.Kailasnatahn had accompanied the Chief Minister during the visit.
