Chief Minister Narendra Modi inaugurated ‘Agritech Asia’ exhibition at Mahatma Mandir in Gandhinagar today. The state-of-the-art exhibition is a part of Vibrant Gujarat Global Agriculture Summit 2013.

Inaugurating the exhibition in the presence of farmers’ delegations from different states of the country and a large number of farmers Mr. Modi said the exhibition is an effort of Gujarat to highlight the importance of research-based agriculture in the national economy, which will prove to be a historic step.

The Chief Minister said that such summit has been organized for the first time in India. As many as 14 countries of the world and 23 states of India have taken part in it.

Describing the Agritech Asia as the biggest fair of India Mr. Modi said that Israel has made repute in the field of agriculture. Israel organizes such summit every three to four years. He hoped the fair will prove beneficial in providing information to the farmers about latest agriculture technologies. This step of Gujarat government which aims at benefiting Indian farmers will turn out to be an important one.

The global agriculture summit cum exhibition is organized with a view to acquaint farmers at the doorstep and at one place with the latest techniques in the field of agriculture, new machineries, seeds, dynamics of market etc. The exhibition is open for people to visit on Sep 09, 2 pm to 6 pm and on Sept 10, 11 and 12, 10 am to 6 pm.

The exhibition is spread over in 15,000 sq. meter of area and about 250 national and international companies have taken part in it. Over two lakh visitors are expected to visit it.

The exhibition has covered about 25 different sectors with the agriculture field. Companies dealing with irrigation, greenhouse plasticulure, agro industries, dairy technology, livestock fabrication, animal husbandry, fertilizer, agro chemicals, and food technology, among others have taken part in the exhibition.

The exhibition aims at helping farmers in knowing about new avenues of employment, getting more crops in lesser land and to reduce wastage of cultivated crops etc. Gujarat cold storage association, national seed association of India, irrigation association of India, Gujarat agricultural machinery manufacturers’ association, national association of welfare of animal and research has also extended their co-operation in the organization of this exhibition.

PM to participate in ‘Odisha Parba 2024’ on 24 November

Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi will participate in the ‘Odisha Parba 2024’ programme on 24 November at around 5:30 PM at Jawaharlal Nehru Stadium, New Delhi. He will also address the gathering on the occasion.

Odisha Parba is a flagship event conducted by Odia Samaj, a trust in New Delhi. Through it, they have been engaged in providing valuable support towards preservation and promotion of Odia heritage. Continuing with the tradition, this year Odisha Parba is being organised from 22nd to 24th November. It will showcase the rich heritage of Odisha displaying colourful cultural forms and will exhibit the vibrant social, cultural and political ethos of the State. A National Seminar or Conclave led by prominent experts and distinguished professionals across various domains will also be conducted.
