Ahead of Kerala assembly polls, Prime Minister Narendra Modi addressed rallies in Pathanamthitta and Thiruvananthapuram today. He said, “There are times in the history of societies when the people speak in one voice against tyranny, mis-governance and oppression. These are special epoch-making moments in which the people convey a very clear message to those in power.”
“Under leadership of Loknayak Jay Prakash Narayan, we saw a glimpse of this during the anti-Emergency movement in the 1970’s People from different ideologies united to uproot dictatorship. People united to protect our Constitution. I am seeing a similar spirit in Kerala today,” he added.
Speaking in Pathanamthitta constituency, PM Modi asserted, “Kerala is seeing how the professional community is blessing BJP. They are seeing that BJP stands for bringing progressive and educated people in politics. The active presence of a respected professional like Metro Man Sreedharan has been a game-changer in Kerala politics. He has contributed so much and now, he has chosen BJP as a means to serve society.”
Describing the sins committed by LDF and UDF, the Prime Minister remarked, “UDF and LDF have committed their own seven deadly sins in Kerala. The first sin is false pride and arrogance. The second sin is greed for money. The third sin is wrath towards people. The Fourth sin is envy or jealousy. The fifth sin is lust for power. The sixth sin is promoting dynasty politics and the seventh sin is laziness in working.
Alleging that the two fronts have created roadblocks for development in the state, the Prime Minister said, “We in NDA are coming to you with forward looking development agenda that puts Kerala on FAST route to progress. F stood for fisheries and fertiliser sectors, A for agriculture and ayurveda, S for skill development and social empowerment and T for tourism and technology.”
Highlighting water woes of the state, PM Modi asserted, “Access to drinking water is a problem in Kerala. When the NDA Government began the Jal Jeevan Mission, only 25% of Kerala’s households had tap water supply. Since the mission began, almost 20% of households all over the nation got access to tap water connections. I am sad to share that in Kerala that number is 4.5%. The reason for the slow progress is the poor attitude of the state government.”
In Pathanamthitta, the PM said that being here in this holy land blessed by Swami Ayyappa is special. “Millions of devotees come here after observing a strict 41-day ‘vratham.’ Their discipline and devotion make this land even holier. I bow down to Swami Ayyappa as well as to such devotees of Swami Ayyappa,” he asserted.
Slamming LDF government, he said, “From Swami Ayyappa we learn the importance of doing good to others and being compassionate. But, what has the LDF done? First, they try to distort the picture of Kerala and try to show Kerala culture as backward. Then, they try to destabilise sacred places by using their agents to carry out mischief.”
Addressing his last rally in Thiruvananthapuram, the Prime Minister said, “The capital of Kerala has a special link with BJP. Our first ever seat in the Kerala Assembly came from this part of the state.
In a fresh attack on opposition parties in Kerala, PM Modi said, “In Kerala the people of the state are convinced on two things. First- UDF and LDF are twins. They are twins of mis-governance, corruption, political violence, communalism, casteism, cronyism, nepotism and more. The political picture in West Bengal is clear to everyone. Election after election, Congress and Left are getting closer. The logical step after such closeness is a full merger of Congress and Left. They can call the new party – CCP – ‘Congress-Comrade Party’.
“Second - Because they are twins, UDF lacks the ability and willingness to defeat LDF. No wonder there is a surge of support in favour of NDA,” he added.
PM Modi claimed that Congress is such a shameless party that they will sacrifice any hardworking person at the altar of factional politics. “Many years ago- in the battle between the ‘I’ faction and ‘A’ faction, the career of a patriotic scientist Nambi Narayanan was destroyed. That is why, even though they do try, not many professionals relate with UDF. In the NDA, see the place of pride Metro Man Sridharan has got. Today, he is emerging as an inspiration for so many professionals,” he shared.
Launching an all-out attack on the current Kerala Government, Prime Minister Modi asserted, “Under LDF, there is a total Hartal on governance in Kerala. The people of Kerala are talented and hard working. But, the LDF Government has failed to show any forward looking vision to solve their problems.”
“When our government was formed in 2014, only 5 cities had metro services. Today 18 cities have metro rail service. Also, I am aware that cyclones and floods have caused much damage and destruction across Kerala. Our Government is creating a strong disaster management system,” he said while addressing a public meeting in Thiruvananthapuram.

You all have heard of the seven deadly sins.
— narendramodi_in (@narendramodi_in) April 2, 2021
UDF and LDF have committed their own seven deadly sins in Kerala: PM @narendramodi
The first sin is false pride and arrogance.
— narendramodi_in (@narendramodi_in) April 2, 2021
UDF and LDF feel they can never be defeated.
This has made their leader very arrogant.
They are become disconnected from the roots: PM @narendramodi
The second sin is greed for money.
— narendramodi_in (@narendramodi_in) April 2, 2021
Solar scam, dollar scam, gold scam, land scam, bar bribery scam, excise scam…the list is endless.
Both alliances have looted from every sector: PM @narendramodi
The third sin is wrath towards people.
— narendramodi_in (@narendramodi_in) April 2, 2021
I fail to understand which government will shower Lathis on innocent devotees?
Which Government will repeatedly attack its own citizens?: PM @narendramodi
The Fourth sin is envy or jealousy.
— narendramodi_in (@narendramodi_in) April 2, 2021
UDF and LDF are jealous of each other. They want to beat the other in committing all wrongs.
They also suffer from competitive corruption.
They are jealous if the other alliance even makes a paisa more than the other: PM @narendramodi
The fifth sin is lust for power.
— narendramodi_in (@narendramodi_in) April 2, 2021
This makes them form alliances with communal, criminal and regressive elements of society.
What was the stand of the Muslim League on Triple Talaq?
What are the social policies of the SDPI and PFI?: PM @narendramodi
We have also seen how children of big leaders are behaving.
— narendramodi_in (@narendramodi_in) April 2, 2021
The case of the son of a top LDF leader is well known.
I do not need to elaborate more on it because his antics are common knowledge: PM @narendramodi
The sixth sin is promoting dynasty politics.
— narendramodi_in (@narendramodi_in) April 2, 2021
In both alliances there is a craze to further dynasty rule.
Everything else is a side-issue: PM @narendramodi
The seventh sin is laziness in working.
— narendramodi_in (@narendramodi_in) April 2, 2021
When making money, promoting dynasties and doing vote bank politics is the priority, governance naturally takes a back-seat.
UDF and LDF have brought a governance paralysis in Kerala: PM @narendramodi
We in NDA are coming to you with forward looking development agenda that puts Kerala on FAST route to progress
— narendramodi_in (@narendramodi_in) April 2, 2021
My vision for FAST includes:
F for Fisheries & Fertilisers
A for Agriculture & Ayurveda
S for Skill development & social empowerment
T for Tourism & technology: PM
The warm hearted nature of Kerala has drawn people from all over the world to this state.
— narendramodi_in (@narendramodi_in) April 2, 2021
Tourists came but there was no vision from the government to support tourism.
NDA’s track record in the tourism sector shows our alliance alone can help this sector grow: PM @narendramodi
Since the mission began, almost 20% of households all over the nation got access to tap water connections.
— narendramodi_in (@narendramodi_in) April 2, 2021

From Swami Ayappa we learn the importance of doing good to others and being compassionate.
— narendramodi_in (@narendramodi_in) April 2, 2021
But, what has the LDF done?: PM @narendramodi
The devotees of Swami Ayyappa who should have been welcomed with flowers, were welcomed with lathis.
— narendramodi_in (@narendramodi_in) April 2, 2021
I want to state clearly:
The innocent devotees of Swami Ayyappa are not criminals: PM @narendramodi
This is why Babasaheb Ambedkar questioned if Communism and free democracy can ever coexist.
— narendramodi_in (@narendramodi_in) April 2, 2021
He said that Communism is like a forest fire that will burn and consume everything: PM @narendramodi
For decades, the Left cabal has done everything to portray Indian culture in poor light. Their lies won’t go on any more.
— narendramodi_in (@narendramodi_in) April 2, 2021
An imported and internationally rejected ideology will no longer be allowed to trample over the culture of our land: PM @narendramodi
Our vision is inclusive.

UDF and LDF have given very uninspiring leadership to the state.
— narendramodi_in (@narendramodi_in) April 2, 2021
Look at Thiruvananthapuram and surrounding areas.
You have a Minister who was supposed to help temples but he was one of the master-minds to shower Lathis on devotees in Sabrimala: PM @narendramodi
That is why, even though they do try, not many professionals relate with UDF.
— narendramodi_in (@narendramodi_in) April 2, 2021
In the NDA, see the place of pride Metro Man Sridharan has got.

The people of Kerala are talented and hard working.
But, the LDF Government has failed to show any forward looking vision to solve their problems: PM @narendramodi
Thiruvananthapuram is fast growing urban centre. Kerala’s urban population is rapidly rising. For the work averse LDF & UDF this is a challenge.
— narendramodi_in (@narendramodi_in) April 2, 2021
But, we see this as an opportunity. Rapid urbanisation means there is necessity for rapid urban transformation, which we are doing: PM
When our government was formed in 2014, only 5 cities had metro services. Today 18 cities have metro rail service.
— narendramodi_in (@narendramodi_in) April 2, 2021

In a year, Independent India turns 75.
The next 25 years will be crucial for us.
Bless the NDA so that we can work hard and create the Kerala you dreamt of: PM @narendramodi
