Prime Minister Narendra Modi, during his historic visit to Papua New Guinea, was conferred with three prestigious civilian awards. He was conferred the ‘Grand Companion of the Order of Logohu’ by Papua New Guinea, ‘Companion of the Order of Fiji’ by Republic of Fiji and ‘Ebakl’ Award by Republic of Palau.

In a special ceremony at the Government House, H.E. Sir Bob Dadae, Governor-General of Papua New Guinea (PNG) conferred Prime Minister Modi with the Grand Companion of the Order of Logohu (GCL). This is the highest civilian award of PNG and recipients of the award are titled "Chief".

 

PM Modi was conferred the highest honour of Fiji, the Companion of the Order of Fiji. It was presented to him by PM Rabuka.

President Surangel Whipps, Jr. of Palau presented PM Modi with an Ebakl. It is one of the most important tools for the people of Palau and has a strong link with the local culture. It also symbolises leadership and wisdom.
