PM congratulates Ashwin Makwana for winning bronze in chess at Asian Para Games

The Prime Minister, Shri Narendra Modi, congratulated Ashwin Makwana for winning a bronze medal in the men's chess B1 category at the Hangzhou Asian Para Games today.

The Prime Minister posted on X:

"Congratulations to Ashwin Makwana for clinching the Bronze Medal in Men's Chess B1 Category (Individual).

His brilliance adds another medal to India's para sports glory. May he keep up the fantastic work and wishing him the very best for his future endeavours."

PM Modi pays homage to Mahatma Gandhi

Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi paid homage today to Mahatma Gandhi at his statue in the historic Promenade Gardens in Georgetown, Guyana. He recalled Bapu’s eternal values of peace and non-violence which continue to guide humanity. The statue was installed in commemoration of Gandhiji’s 100th birth anniversary in 1969.

Prime Minister also paid floral tribute at the Arya Samaj monument located close by. This monument was unveiled in 2011 in commemoration of 100 years of the Arya Samaj movement in Guyana.
