Prime Minister condoles the passing of squash legend Shri Raj Manchanda

The Prime Minister, Shri Narendra Modi condoled the passing of Shri Raj Manchanda today. Shri Modi hailed Shri Manchanda as a true legend of Indian squash known for his dedication and excellence. He also lauded Shri Manchanda for his service to the nation reflected in his military service.

The Prime Minister’s handle in a post on X wrote:

“Saddened by the passing away of Shri Raj Manchanda Ji, a true legend of Indian squash known for his dedication and excellence. In addition to the laurels he won, it was his passion for the sport and his ability to inspire generations that truly set him apart. Beyond the squash court, his service to the nation was reflected in his military service too. Condolences to his family and admirers. Om Shanti: PM @narendramodi”

Prime Minister Shri. Narendra Modi received a telephone call today from H.E. Mr. Antonio Costa, President of the European Council.

PM congratulated President Costa on his assumption of charge as the President of the European Council.

Noting the substantive progress made in India-EU Strategic Partnership over the past decade, the two leaders agreed to working closely together towards further bolstering the ties, including in the areas of trade, technology, investment, green energy and digital space.

They underlined the need for early conclusion of a mutually beneficial India- EU FTA.

The leaders looked forward to the next India-EU Summit to be held in India at a mutually convenient time.

They exchanged views on regional and global developments of mutual interest. The leaders agreed to remain in touch.
