At the ‘Pariksha Pe Charcha’ town hall today, PM Narendra Modi urged his young friends to always keep the student in them alive. He took questions from several students across the country ranging from importance of self-confidence, concentration, aspects relating to peer pressure and effective time management. 

At the event he said, “You are not talking to the Prime Minister of India, you are talking to a friend.”
The PM said that in addition to the right skills and the means, student needs self-confidence comes by challenging ourselves and working hard. He said that we should always think of bettering ourselves.

Speaking about enhancing concentration, the PM said that yoga was a wonderful medium to do so. He advised the students to practice yoga asanas of their choice. 

Shri Modi urged the students not to compete with others but themselves, he said, “My young friends, do not bother about how many hours your friends study. Think- you studied for a certain number of hours on one day, better that the next day... Do not compete with others, compete with yourself.”

He requested parents not to make the achievements of their child a matter of social prestige while urging the students to also remember what every parent sacrifices for the well-being of the child.

He also requested the teachers to connect not just with the students, but also indulge in their social circle to know them better. “In our society teachers are like family members. Such a spirit was more common earlier and we have to reignite this spirit further today”, he added.
