PM Modi holds talks with President Putin of Russia

Prime Minister Narendra Modi today held talks with President Vladimir Putin of Russia in Sochi.

Thanking President Putin for having invited him to Sochi for the informal summit, PM Narendra Modi said that India-Russia ties were characterised by mutual respect and goodwill.

The Prime Minister congratulated President Putin for his win in the elections.

PM Modi highlighted Russia's role in India getting permanent membership of the SCO, cooperation between both the countries for International North-South Transport Corridor and BRICS.

The Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi lauded the passing of amendments proposed to Oilfields (Regulation and Development) Act 1948 in Rajya Sabha today. He remarked that it was an important legislation which will boost energy security and also contribute to a prosperous India.

Responding to a post on X by Union Minister Shri Hardeep Singh Puri, Shri Modi wrote:
