Addressing the 41st AGM of the USIBC, Prime Minister Narendra Modi today said that India was an engine of global growth and the country’s economy had multiple benefits for the world. Shri Modi said that India was more than only a market. The PM said that the country had a source of high quality scientific, engineering and managerial talent.

The Prime Minister remarked that Indian-Americans were a powerful cementing force in our growing economic and cultural ties.

The PM highlighted that from the past two years India had been registering an impressive growth as a result of the continuous reforms being undertaken by the Government of Inda. Shri Modi shed light on several initiatives that were transforming lives of people a grassroots. “Jan Dhan Yojana has also transformed the ability of the poor to make and to receive electronic payments. We have paid special attention to gender justice and to empowering women.”

The Prime Minister also spoke about Government of India’s efforts to maintain prudent macro-economic policies and improve the investment climate in the country.
