Prime Minister Narendra Modi addressed a huge rally in Visakhapatnam, Andhra Pradesh this evening.

Addressing a huge crowd of enthusiastic supporters, PM Modi said told them that the popular demand of the people of Andhra of creation of a separate Railway Zone has been fulfilled and announced the creation of South Coast Railway Zone which will be headquartered in Visakhapatnam itself and further demonstrates the Centre’s commitment in accelerating progress according to the Andhra Re-organisation Act.
 
Lashing out at the state government and its leaders for failing to live up to its promises of progress and prosperity for the people of Andhra Pradesh, Prime Minister Modi said, “If the leaders of this state would have truly worked for the development of its people, they would not have to put the blame of their ill-governance on Modi. I wish they focussed more on empowering their people rather than abusing Modi all the time.”
 
Concluding his all-pervasive address to his supporters, PM Modi assured the people that his government was working tirelessly to accelerate development and opportunities for all sections of society in Andhra Pradesh and urged them to vote for the politics of development of the BJP during the upcoming Lok Sabha elections in large numbers.

PM Modi visits the Indian Arrival Monument

Prime Minister visited the Indian Arrival monument at Monument Gardens in Georgetown today. He was accompanied by PM of Guyana Brig (Retd) Mark Phillips. An ensemble of Tassa Drums welcomed Prime Minister as he paid floral tribute at the Arrival Monument. Paying homage at the monument, Prime Minister recalled the struggle and sacrifices of Indian diaspora and their pivotal contribution to preserving and promoting Indian culture and tradition in Guyana. He planted a Bel Patra sapling at the monument.

The monument is a replica of the first ship which arrived in Guyana in 1838 bringing indentured migrants from India. It was gifted by India to the people of Guyana in 1991.
