ਪ੍ਰਧਾਨ ਮੰਤਰੀ,ਸ਼੍ਰੀ ਨਰੇਂਦਰ ਮੋਦੀ ਨੇ ਸੰਯੁਕਤ ਰਾਜ ਅਮਰੀਕਾ ਦੇ ਹਾਊਸ ਆਵ੍ ਰਿਪ੍ਰੈਜੈਂਟੇਟਿਵਸ ਦੇ ਸਪੀਕਰ ਮਹਾਮਹਿਮ ਸ਼੍ਰੀ ਕੇਵਿਨ ਮੈਕਕਾਰਥੀ; ਸੀਨੇਟ ਵਿੱਚ ਬਹੁਮਤ ਦੇ ਨੇਤਾ ਮਹਾਮਹਿਮ ਸ਼੍ਰੀ ਚਾਰਲਸ ਸ਼ੂਮਰ; ਸੀਨੇਟ ਵਿੱਚ ਰਿਪਬਲਿਕਨ ਪਾਰਟੀ ਦੇ ਨੇਤਾ ਮਹਾਮਹਿਮ ਸ਼੍ਰੀ ਮਿਚ ਮੈਕਕੋਨੇਲ ਅਤੇ ਸਦਨ ਵਿੱਚ ਡੈਮੋਕਰੇਟਿਕ ਪਾਰਟੀ ਦੇ ਨੇਤਾ ਮਹਾਮਹਿਮ ਸ਼੍ਰੀ ਹਕੀਮ ਜੈਫਰੀਜ ਦੇ ਸੱਦੇ ’ਤੇ 22 ਜੂਨ 2023 ਨੂੰ ਸੰਯੁਕਤ ਰਾਜ ਅਮਰੀਕਾ ਦੀ ਕਾਂਗਰਸ ਦੀ ਸੰਯੁਕਤ ਬੈਠਕ (ਜੁਆਇੰਟ ਸਿਟਿੰਗ) ਨੂੰ ਸੰਬੋਧਨ ਕੀਤਾ।
ਇਸ ਅਵਸਰ ’ਤੇ ਸੰਯੁਕਤ ਰਾਜ ਅਮਰੀਕਾ ਦੇ ਉਪ ਰਾਸ਼ਟਰਪਤੀ ਮਹਾਮਹਿਮ ਸੁਸ਼੍ਰੀ ਕਮਲਾ ਹੈਰਿਸ ਵੀ ਮੌਜੂਦ ਸਨ।
ਕੈਪੀਟਲ ਹਿੱਲ ਪਹੁੰਚਣ ’ਤੇ ਕਾਂਗਰਸ ਦੇ ਨੇਤਾਵਾਂ ਦੁਆਰਾ ਪ੍ਰਧਾਨ ਮੰਤਰੀ ਦਾ ਰਸਮੀ ਤੌਰ ’ਤੇ ਸੁਆਗਤ ਕੀਤਾ ਗਿਆ । ਇਸ ਦੇ ਬਾਅਦ ਪ੍ਰਧਾਨ ਮੰਤਰੀ ਨੇ ਹਾਊਸ ਸਪੀਕਰ ਕੇਵਿਨ ਮੈਕਕਾਰਥੀ ਅਤੇ ਕਾਂਗਰਸ ਦੇ ਵਿਭਿੰਨ ਨੇਤਾਵਾਂ ਦੇ ਨਾਲ ਅਲੱਗ-ਅਲੱਗ ਮੀਟਿੰਗਾਂ ਕੀਤੀਆਂ।
ਆਪਣੇ ਸੰਬੋਧਨ ਵਿੱਚ, ਪ੍ਰਧਾਨ ਮੰਤਰੀ ਨੇ ਭਾਰਤ ਅਤੇ ਸੰਯੁਕਤ ਰਾਜ ਅਮਰੀਕਾ ਦੇ ਦਰਮਿਆਨ ਦੇ ਸਬੰਧਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਮਜ਼ਬੂਤ ਕਰਨ ਦੇ ਲਈ ਸੰਯੁਕਤ ਰਾਜ ਅਮਰੀਕਾ ਦੀ ਕਾਂਗਰਸ ਵਿੱਚ ਲੰਬੇ ਸਮੇਂ ਤੋਂ ਚਲੇ ਆ ਰਹੇ ਅਤੇ ਮਜ਼ਬੂਤ ਦੋ-ਦਲੀ ਸਮਰਥਨ (bipartisan support) ਦੀ ਸ਼ਲਾਘਾ ਕੀਤੀ।
ਪ੍ਰਧਾਨ ਮੰਤਰੀ ਨੇ ਭਾਰਤ ਅਤੇ ਸੰਯੁਕਤ ਰਾਜ ਅਮਰੀਕਾ ਦੇ ਦਰਮਿਆਨ ਦੁਵੱਲੇ ਸਬੰਧਾਂ ਵਿੱਚ ਹੋਈ ਤੇਜ਼ ਪ੍ਰਗਤੀ ਬਾਰੇ ਗੱਲ ਕੀਤੀ ਅਤੇ ਦੁਵੱਲੇ ਸਬੰਧਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਹੋਰ ਉੱਪਰ ਉਠਾਉਣ ਨਾਲ ਸਬੰਧਿਤ ਆਪਣੇ ਦ੍ਰਿਸ਼ਟੀਕੋਣ ਨੂੰ ਸਾਂਝਾ ਕੀਤਾ। ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਨੇ ਭਾਰਤ ਦੀ ਵਿਆਪਕ ਪ੍ਰਗਤੀ ਅਤੇ ਦੁਨੀਆ ਦੇ ਲਈ ਉਸ ਦੇ ਦੁਆਰਾ ਪੇਸ਼ ਕੀਤੇ ਜਾਣ ਵਾਲੇ ਅਵਸਰਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਵੀ ਰੇਖਾਂਕਿਤ ਕੀਤਾ।
ਸਪੀਕਰ ਮੈਕਕਾਰਥੀ ਨੇ ਪ੍ਰਧਾਨ ਮੰਤਰੀ ਦੇ ਸਨਮਾਨ ਵਿੱਚ ਇੱਕ ਸੁਆਗਤ ਸਮਾਰੋਹ ਦਾ ਆਯੋਜਨ ਕੀਤਾ। ਸੰਯੁਕਤ ਰਾਜ ਅਮਰੀਕਾ ਦੀ ਕਾਂਗਰਸ ਦੀ ਸੰਯੁਕਤ ਬੈਠਕ (ਜੁਆਇੰਟ ਸਿਟਿੰਗ) ਵਿੱਚ ਪ੍ਰਧਾਨ ਮੰਤਰੀ ਦਾ ਇਹ ਦੂਸਰਾ ਸੰਬੋਧਨ ਸੀ। ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਨੇ ਇਸ ਤੋਂ ਪਹਿਲਾਂ ਸਤੰਬਰ 2016 ਵਿੱਚ ਸੰਯੁਕਤ ਰਾਜ ਅਮਰੀਕਾ ਦੀ ਆਪਣੀ ਸਰਕਾਰੀ ਯਾਤਰਾ ਦੇ ਦੌਰਾਨ ਅਮਰੀਕੀ ਕਾਂਗਰਸ ਨੂੰ ਸੰਬੋਧਨ ਕੀਤਾ ਸੀ।
