Prime Minister Narendra Modi addressed a vibrant gathering in Darbhanga, Bihar, where he paid homage to the late Maharaja Kameshwar Singh Ji and praised the sacred land of Mithila and its people.

"I pay my respects to the late Maharaja Kameshwar Singh ji from the land of Darbhanga. One, it is the sacred land of Mithila and second, it is the blessing of the people. What a great privilege for me," said PM Modi, acknowledging the significance of Darbhanga and Mithila in Indian culture and heritage.

PM Modi congratulated the nation on the construction of the Ram temple in Ayodhya, calling it a historic moment. "After 500 years, our wait has ended. And the wait wasn't just for Lord Ram, it was for Goddess Sita too, it was for Mithila too. We are witnessing this auspicious time in our lifetime, this is a significant event," he stated.

Reflecting on the historical significance of recent events, PM Modi emphasized that the installation of Ram Lalla in Ayodhya marked the beginning of a new era for India. "When the installation of Ram Lalla was taking place in Ayodhya, I said that now India will script its future for the next thousand years," he remarked.

PM Modi highlighted India's remarkable progress over the past decade, citing its rise from the 11th to the 5th largest economy in the world. He praised India's resilience during the COVID-19 pandemic, emphasizing how the country overcame the crisis and provided leadership to the world.

“Just as there is a prince in Delhi, there is also a prince in Patna. One prince has considered the whole country his kingdom since childhood, and the other prince has considered all of Bihar his fiefdom. The report cards of both these princes are the same. Except for scams and lawlessness, there is nothing in their report cards,” said PM Modi condemning the intentions of INDI Alliance’s Shehzade.

PM Modi criticized the Congress and RJD alliance for their actions during the pandemic, accusing them of neglecting the people of Bihar. "What the Congress-RJD Alliance did with the people of Bihar in that huge crisis, I can never forget.".

PM Modi also addressed the issue of reservations based on religion, condemning the Congress and RJD's proposed policies. "You know that the Constitution has prohibited reservations based on religion. Baba Saheb was also against it. But now, when the Congress has lost the support of the poor SC, ST, and OBCs, Congress is going against Nehru ji's sentiments," he asserted.

Regarding Bihar's development, PM Modi highlighted the achievements of the NDA government under the leadership of Nitish Kumar. He praised initiatives such as providing permanent homes to the poor, gas connections, free rations, and healthcare for the elderly.

"Today, under the leadership of Nitish ji, the NDA government is working day and night for the development of Bihar. Our inspiration is Karpoori Thakur, whom we were fortunate enough to award the Bharat Ratna some time ago," PM Modi said, emphasizing the government's commitment to transforming Bihar's infrastructure and economy.

PM Modi urged the people of Bihar to vote for development and progress, urging them to support NDA candidates in the upcoming elections. "We cannot let Bihar go back to the lantern era," he declared.

While concluding his address, PM Modi reiterated his vision for a prosperous and united India, calling on the people of Bihar to support the NDA's agenda for growth and development.

Cabinet approves construction of 4-Lane greenfield and brownfield Patna-Arrah-Sasaram corridor in Bihar
March 28, 2025

The Cabinet Committee on Economic Affairs (CCEA), chaired by the Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi, has approved the construction of 4-lane access controlled greenfield and brownfield Patna – Arrah – Sasaram corridor starting from Patna to Sasaram (120.10 km) in Bihar. The project will be developed on Hybrid Annuity Mode (HAM) at a total capital cost of Rs. 3,712.40 crore.

Currently, connectivity between Sasaram, Arrah and Patna relies on existing State Highways (SH-2, SH-12, SH-81 and SH-102) and takes 3-4 hours due to heavy congestion including in Arrah town. A greenfield corridor, along with 10.6 km of upgradation of existing brownfield highway, will be developed to reduce the increasing congestion, catering to the needs of densely built-up areas in places like Arrah, Grahini, Piro, Bikramganj, Mokar and Sasaram.

The project alignment integrates with major transport corridors, including NH-19, NH-319, NH-922, NH-131G, and NH-120, providing seamless connectivity to Aurangabad, Kaimur, and Patna. Additionally, the project will also provide connectivity to 02 airports (Patna’s Jay Prakash Narayan International Airport and upcoming Bihita airport), 04 major railway stations (Sasaram, Arrah, Danapur, Patna), and 01 Inland Water Terminal (Patna), and enhance direct access to Patna Ring Road, facilitating faster movement of goods and passengers.

Upon completion, the Patna-Arrah-Sasaram Corridor will play a pivotal role in regional economic growth, improving connectivity between Lucknow, Patna, Ranchi, and Varanasi. The project aligns with the government’s vision of Atmanirbhar Bharat, enhancing infrastructure while generating employment and fostering socio-economic development in Bihar. The project will also generate 48 lakh man days employment, and will open new avenues of growth, development and prosperity in developing regions in and around Patna.
