Interacting with the BJP Yuva Morcha of Karnataka, PM Modi appreciated them and said that they were at the forefront. Shri Modi lauded them for their efforts to remain constantly connected with people be it online, offline or on ground.

Speaking to the Yuva Morcha karyakartas, Shri Modi accused the Congress of opposing technology. Blaming the Congress for opposing technologies like the EVM, Aadhaar and mobile technology, he noted how the BJP was promoting technology in every sector. “In this age of artificial intelligence, India cannot lag behind. Through technology we are promoting skill development”, he added.

Appreciating the youth of Karnataka for excelling in every sphere, he highlighted about young sportsperson P Gururaja, who had also shared his experience during PM Modi’s MannKi Baat in April. He also mentioned about renowned badminton player Ashwini Ponnappa and said that sportspersons like them were an inspiration for several youngsters.

Shri Modi said that to promote small businesses in Karnataka, nearly 11% Mudra loans sanctioned were in the state alone. He also highlighted several initiatives which the BJP would undertake upon forming government in the state.

Taking questions from the young karyakartas on rising political hatred, Shri Modi mentioned how due to political differences, several BJP karyakartas were brutally murdered in Karnataka. Cautioning the perpetrators of hatred and violence, he said that such instances cannot exist in a democracy.

Replying to a question on strengthening the demographic dividend, he said that the government’s stress was on quality of education and quantity of opportunities. He remarked that the government was committed to enhance higher education facilities. Shedding light on the Atal Innovation Mission, he highlighted how the initiative was promoting research and scientific temper among students.

Responding to a question on employment generation, he attacked the Congress for not answering the people what they had done for people. He held them responsible for unemployment during the 10 years of UPA.

Shri Modi highlighted how the NDA government was strengthening the personal sector. He said that country’s infrastructure sector was growing rapidly and stated that without employing more people it was not possible to achieve this growth. He also mentioned about World Bank’s report on easing business environment in India and how through the Mudra Yojana a platform was being provided to budding entrepreneurs across the country.

PM Modi visits the Indian Arrival Monument

Prime Minister visited the Indian Arrival monument at Monument Gardens in Georgetown today. He was accompanied by PM of Guyana Brig (Retd) Mark Phillips. An ensemble of Tassa Drums welcomed Prime Minister as he paid floral tribute at the Arrival Monument. Paying homage at the monument, Prime Minister recalled the struggle and sacrifices of Indian diaspora and their pivotal contribution to preserving and promoting Indian culture and tradition in Guyana. He planted a Bel Patra sapling at the monument.

The monument is a replica of the first ship which arrived in Guyana in 1838 bringing indentured migrants from India. It was gifted by India to the people of Guyana in 1991.
