Prime Minister Narendra Modi today campaigned in Bijnor, Uttar Pradesh. Prime Minister said that seeing enthusiasm of people in Uttar Pradesh, it was clear that the state longed for change. He urged people to vote for a BJP government in the elections.

Hitting out at the Samajwadi party government, Shri Modi said, “In every Assembly segment, BJP workers are being arrested for no fault of theirs. Should Governments run like this? Should the law be misused against political opponents?”

He alleged that the SP government in the state was unable to protect the interests of the poor and honest citizens. Citing rising instances of crimes in the state, Shri Modi said, “What were Samajwadi party leaders saying after unfortunate instances of rape in the state? Such derogatory remarks are unacceptable.”

Shri Modi also attacked the Congress and said that they can do everything for their survival. “Congress can do anything for their survival, even form alliance with the SP against whom they fought for years.”

Prime Minister Modi remarked that welfare of sugarcane farmers was of utmost important for the BJP Government. He added, “Why is it that sugarcane farmers in Uttar Pradesh aren’t getting their dues? Why is it that farmers are not getting justice? We will ensure their dues are settled.”

Prime Minister Modi spoke at length about the Centre’s Pradhan Mantri Fasal Bima Yojana. “Farmer welfare is most vital for us. Our Government has brought the Pradhan Mantri Fasal Bima Yojana. It ensures minimum premium and maximum insurance for our farmers.”

He also said a Chaudhary Charan Singh Kisan Kalyan Kosh would be created for farmers’ welfare.

Shri Modi stated that people of Uttar Pradesh did not deserve an inefficient state government that does not work for their wellbeing. He said, “Despite resources being allotted from the Centre, the state government isn’t utilizing it for the welfare of the state. People in Uttar Pradesh must question the SP government that what development works have been done in the state in last five years?” Adding further, he said, “They start their election campaign sharing stage with a leader who has been looting the state's natural resources.”
