I now understand why Mamata Didi is so scared to have us here. It is your love for us that scares her: PM in Bengal

PM Narendra Modi addressed rallies at Thakurnagar and Durgapur in West Bengal. Both the rallies saw PM Modi launch attack on the ruling Trinamool Congress led government in the state. PM Modi expressed confidence that in the upcoming elections, the Bharatiya Janata Party would emerge victorious in the state.

Addressing a huge rally in Thakurnagar, PM Modi praised the Matua sect founder Harichand Thakur for his contribution to society and recalled the contribution of Shri Bibhutibhushan Bandyopadhyay, author of Pather Panchali. He spoke at length about the interim budget presented in the Parliament yesterday. Highlighting the outcomes and benefits of the Interim budget, he said, “Our budget will benefit over 3 crore taxpayers, more than 12 crore farmers and 40 crore unorganised labourers.”

PM Modi also highlighted the Centre’s budget proposal of giving Rs. 6000 per annum to small farmers. He said, “You won’t have to pay any syndicate tax, the money will be paid directly to your bank account.” Attacking the Congress for its farm loan waivers, PM Modi remarked that only those who never took any loan had their loans waived off. Citing the example of a farmer from Madhya Pradesh who only got Rs 13 after he applied for a loan waiver, he said that the cash transfer scheme is much superior as it will be completely transparent.

At the rally in Durgapur, PM Modi said that people’s affection towards him and the BJP has kept Didi (West Bengal CM Mamata Banerjee) out of sleep. Noting an incident of political violence in Durgapur ahead of the rally, PM Modi sad, “The behaviour of the TMC towards the BJP Karyakartas is condemnable. They even injured one of our Karyakartas yesterday. But it is the enthusiasm within the Karyakarta that today I can see him at the rally. Such is our Karyakarta’s devotion to serve the people.” Further adding, PM Modi said, “I used to think that Didi who herself has suffered a lot during Left regime will not walk on the same path, but I was surprised that she adopted the same tactics. The ruling TMC is certain to go. People in West Bengal want change.”

Stating that the TMC led government was not serious about development of West Bengal, PM Modi said, “The Central government is making efforts to develop infrastructure in the state and crores of rupees have been allocated for several railway projects in West Bengal. But the TMC government isn’t serious about the state's development.

PM Modi also blamed the West Bengal government of blocking benefits of Ayushman Bharat Yojana in the state. He said, “TMC government is preventing the benefits of schemes from reaching the poor for whom these projects are meant. The government in West Bengal is blocking the benefits of Ayushman Bharat Yojana. Nothing can be more shameful than blocking benefits of schemes meant for the poor!”

Accusing the ruling TMC of “playing with the future of Bengal”, PM Modi hit out at the state government over the scams in the state. “People are well aware of Triple T- Trinamool Tolabaazi Tax. No one opposed this culture of syndicate and TTT, which is why the TMC had a free rein. But now, the BJP will oppose this. The Chowkidar has started a cleanliness drive against this culture,” PM Modi said.

“The TMC has not even spared education sector from scams. Every child in West Bengal is aware of the Trinamool Tolabaazi Tax. West Bengal is the only state where you have to pay tax for education”, PM Modi added.

Referring to the Mahagathbandhan’s rally at Brigade Ground earlier, PM Modi stated, “The people who were on the stage in Kolkata did not use to see each other face to face four years ago. Now, they are hugging each other. They are afraid of this Chowkidar.”

The rally concluded with PM Modi reiterating his commitment to fight corruption. “My fight against black money will continue. The Opposition is cursing me as they are feeling the heat of measures we are undertaking to eliminate corruption and black money. They are not even allowing agencies like the CBI and ED to enter the state to probe. What do they fear?” he questioned.
