PM lays foundation stone of New Mandovi Bridge in Goa

The Prime Minister, Shri Narendra Modi, today laid the foundation stone of the new Mandovi bridge at Goa. Speaking on the occasion, he said Goa is one of the key areas for development of tourism in India. And the first requirement for developing tourism is good infrastructure. Good infrastructure can boost the Indian economy, Shri Modi added. 

The Prime Minister said people’s expectations of infrastructure too, had changed over time. The people of India, today, want good quality of infrastructure.

Shri Modi said his Government is committed to increasing investment in infrastructure. This would not only create jobs, but spur investment in other sectors as well. Giving the example of South Korea, he said good infrastructure is one of the key elements for emergence of a modern, prosperous nation.

He said the Chief Minister of Goa, Manohar Parrikar, had taken a decision that the new Mandovi Bridge would be one that Goa would be proud of. The Prime Minister laid stress on timely completion of infrastructure projects, and hoped that the new Mandovi Bridge would be completed on time.

PM Modi to distribute more than 51,000 appointment letters to youth under Rozgar Mela

Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi will distribute more than 51,000 appointment letters to newly appointed youth in various Government departments and organisations on 12th July at around 11:00 AM via video conferencing. He will also address the appointees on the occasion.

Rozgar Mela is a step towards fulfilment of Prime Minister’s commitment to accord highest priority to employment generation. The Rozgar Mela will play a significant role in providing meaningful opportunities to the youth for their empowerment and participation in nation building. More than 10 lakh recruitment letters have been issued so far through the Rozgar Melas across the country.

The 16th Rozgar Mela will be held at 47 locations across the country. The recruitments are taking place across Central Government Ministries and Departments. The new recruits, selected from across the country, will be joining the Ministry of Railways, Ministry of Home Affairs, Department of Posts, Ministry of Health & Family Welfare, Department of Financial Services, Ministry of Labour & Employment among other departments and ministries.
